Vladimir Putin Mocks Rainbow Pride Flag Flying over U.S. Embassy

Russian President Vladimir Putin has mocked the decision by U.S. officials to fly a rainbow pride flag over the embassy in Moscow, saying it “tells you something about the people who work there.”

During a televised video conference on Friday, Putin was told that the American embassy had hung a rainbow flag on its facade for the first time to celebrate Pride Month in June.

“Who works in this building?” Putin asked the speaker, Sen. Alexei Pushkov, who responded, “Americans.”

“Let them celebrate. It tells you a certain something about the people who work there,” Putin added with a smile.

That same day, Putin signed amendments to the Russian Constitution backed by a national vote that includes a clause defining marriage as the union of a man and a woman.

1) Calls it a hoax
2) Says, as recently as last week, its just going to magically go away
3) Won't wear a mask and encourages others not to do so
4) Encourages people to defy local officials, particularly if they are Democrats
5) Lack of any leadership in encouraging people to stay home when they can

Right now, we have three weapons against the virus: 1) Take it seriously; 2) Wear a mask; 3) Minimize interacting with others.

Trump has undermined all three. At every turn. And has seemed to take delight in being by himself on it.
So basically you’re saying we just to wait for it to magically go away? It’s a virus so there’s not going to be a cure.

Far-left activists trampled on an American flag in Washington, D.C., on the nation’s 244th birthday.

A video posted online by Daily Caller video journalist Jorge Ventura showed activists dancing on the flag.

One of the activists in the video was holding a sign that said, “Abolish the institution we need a revolution.”

Ventura wrote on Twitter: “#BLM protesters dance and step on American flag on Blacks Lives Matter Plaza in DC.”

That its a disgrace. No flag should be hanging but the national flag. We gonna have to put out a BLM flag now?

Notice the shirt Out Now Trump/Pence, Revolution, "Go Violent". These kids are worthless trash.

I don't think TJ foresaw the free press taking political sides.
That probably isn't accurate. As long as there have been newspapers, there have been editorials that were biased against certain politicians. The press has always taken sides. I won't go back quite as far as Thomas Jefferson, but this is close:

Presidential historian, Jon Meacham (from Nashville), wrote a biography on Andrew Jackson called "American Lion", which included details such as this:

"During the Presidential campaign of 1828, one of Jackson's fiercest political enemies in Tennessee, Andrew Erwin, wrote several editorials in Nashville newspapers that entered the national press and were eventually compiled into pamphlets to be distributed to voters. His comments centered on Jackson's involvement in the immoral slave trade. According to Erwin, Jackson's slave trading might have led others to bring reproach on him as a private citizen, but it demonstrated his total disqualifications and unfitness for office as a public man." - Jon Meacham

The press also hounded Andrew Jackson over his marriage to his wife, Rachel. Members of the press, including Charles Dickinson from Nashville, pounced when it was revealed that she had previously been married, and it hadn't yet been fully dissolved at the time of her marriage to Andrew Jackson. Rachel Jackson was taunted with names by the press which simply couldn't be said today. Jackson eventually challenged Dickinson to a duel... and he won.

Trump Defends US history, Blasts 'radical left' in 'Salute to America' celebration

President Trump evoked the history of American patriots who defeated Nazis, toppled communists and chased down terrorists, but warned of another threat now in today's political climate -- the "radical left."

“We are now in the process of defeating the radical left," Trump said. "The Marxists. The anarchists. The agitators. The looters, and people who in many instances, have absolutely no clue what they are doing.”

In a Fourth of July speech at the White House in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic and racial unrest, Trump called out the "angry mob" trying to tear down statues and erase history and "trample" freedoms.

“We are now in the process of defeating the radical left," Trump said. "The Marxists. The anarchists. The agitators. The looters, and people who in many instances, have absolutely no clue what they are doing.”

Trump, who has railed against the "cancel culture," refused to let the coronavirus pandemic close down a grand Fourth of July celebration in Washington, D.C., despite objections from local officials over rising infection rates.

Four flyovers over East Coast cities, a D.C. military air show, music and fireworks were all on tap for the "Salute to America" celebration to honor America's 244th birthday Saturday.

Trump gave an "America First" message and blasted the media for "slander" for trying to divide the country along racial lines and offered a strong defense of America's history.

"There have always been those who seek to lie about the past in order to gain power in the present," Trump said.

Trump sought to make a sharp contrast to presumptive White House opponent Joe Biden, who put out an Independence Day message saying America has never lived up to the founding idea of equality -- evoking slavery and George Floyd's death -- and called on the country to address "systemic racism." A Trump aide called Biden's message to Americans on the Fourth of July "truly shocking."

"Biden opens by saying that America has 'NEVER lived up to' our ideals, then goes on to denigrate Thomas Jefferson, evoke a series of the very worst moments of our history, accuse the country of systemic racism, cast us as a bad people whose conscience is 'gnawed at' by principles he says we have 'never' embodied, and then go on to say 'American history is no fairy tale,' and suggest that only by voting for him can America redeem itself from this terrible story," the Trump aide said.

Aside from the irony that Trump is accusing someone else of lying about the past, did he give Ronald Reagan credit for this line in bold? That's a pretty well known quote by Reagan, except that he wasn't talking about Democrats or the media, he was talking about the Soviet Union - which adds another touch of irony.

People aren't living their lives. Period. Wasted lives.

I figured out at a very young age I am not afraid of death, because I love life so much.

I've done the craziest things, defied death many times, and have had experiences that made me appreciate the very next breath I am given on this planet. That's living, experiencing, appreciating the life you have been given.

It teaches and gives you a perspective only felt once you "avoid" death. That's why people who get illnesses like a cancer, who survive, begin to truly live life, not be a slave to their lives.

It's the Tyler Durden... why are you wasting your life away as a cashier, what did you really want out of life, you want to be a veterinarian, I'll be back and if you aren't on your way to becoming one, you'll die. That very moment, facing certain death, gives perspective, and makes life worth living.

The best advice I could give to anyone is simple: live your life for the moments that you will remember on your death bed, the last 30 seconds on this planet, what are those things that are going to make you die with a smile on your face.....that's living and what is worth living for.
Ooh that’s good but those will get me arrested.

Call me a bigot if you want to. That rainbow flag has no business being placed outside a US Embassy in any official or state sanctioned capacity whatsoever.

If an American citizen who happens to work in that embassy personally placed their personal flag there for a while...OK. That would be an American citizen exercising their freedom on American property (Embassies I believe are treated as if they are land inside the country of who is represented onsite)

IF that flag was placed there by a US official as a representative of our country, I do not agree with that at all ..and it should be taken down. The US gov has no business flying that flag...anymore than they do flags representing any other sexual orientation, racial group (black Panthers/white supremacist morons) , religion , or any other SUB-group of Americans. Period. That is a U.S. Embassy. It represents ALL Americans in general, and NONE of them specifically.

Just as surely as having a Florida Gators flag, a Dallas Cowboys flag, a Black Panthers or KKK flag hanging up there would bother some people, so does that gay pride flag. I for one do not endorse that lifestyle, nor does its flag in any way represent me or my family. I do not care what ANY 2 consenting adults do in their bedroom...that is their right and completely up to them...but I do not agree with the Rainbow flag, Rainbow Coalition, or their agenda. I do not agree with their push to "normalize" homosexuality or that lifestyle, do not agree with teaching schoolchildren in public schools about families with " 2 mommies" or "2 daddies"... I do not agree with teaching kids any of their "modern ideas" like gender fluidity, transgender, etc which are in fact mental illnesses that are in most cases undiagnosed. Let me repeat that in case anyone missed it...I know a well respected Dr. That posts here who feels the same...Trangender/gender fluid nonsense Is a mental illness, in many cases undiagnosed.

That is what that rainbow flag represents. It isnt just that nice gay couple that lives down the street from you. It is the agenda of a liberal group that seeks to redefine what is "normal " what is "marriage" how many sexes there are (exactly 2 BTW) etc... that rainbow flag represents a group and a political movement that myself and many other people do not agree with. From what I have read, LGTBQ??? People make up about 2% of Americans. That's 1 in 50 people. I am fine with them living their own lives the way that they see fit...but I am not OK with 2% of society trying to redefine what is "normal" or appropriate behavior and beliefs for the other 98%. That is insanity. Be as gay as you want to be, but do not tell me or my kids that it is normal.

Thank you for this post. I assure you the statements you made are shared by the majority of Americans. !

Trump knockin it out of the park. Joe just can't hang with this Cicero-type oratory.

No president has ever articulated his appreciation for our troops, as well as this...

"In the fields and jungles of Vietnam, they delivered a swift and swippier... and you know that's sweeping. It was swift and it was sweeping like nobody's ever seen anything happen..." - President Donald Trump

Joe Biden is the one losing his cognitive ability, right? Sure thing, boss. That was a rambling mess. I will say it again, there is not one negative thing you can say about Joe Biden, which doesn't also apply to Donald Trump.

... and by the way, does Trump realize that the United States lost the war in Vietnam? It's not clear what the hell he was trying to say.

^^^ that right there, if true....is absolutely terrible news.

He will Ross Perot.....Donald Trump and cost him the election.

It is 2020 though. Wouldnt surprise me even a little bit.

And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I'd gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

Happy Birthday to the greatest country in the world!!!
