He was a regular here. By all accounts a good man. And he used to get into with hog. Mods had been asked for permission to do an OT thread for a while before they allowed it. and it was approved right around his passing.
There were other Memorial OT threads when Freak used another platform. The post count in a thread was limited to 10,000 (???). So we had OT #1-5 before the change and post counts became infinite.

This is for all the non political stuff. In fact, when politics finds it's way in here, we fuss at the poster.
Think of this thread as where we have a beer and leave the arguments, bickering, and stuff at the front door. It's helped me see others with whom I disagree politically with respect and commonality.

People get tired and take breaks every once and a while. Most dont ask to have their accounts deleted.

As bad as the PF is, imo, it was much more argumentative or at least nasty, before the OT threads.

Before the OT no one would have thought anything positive about @luthervol and some others. But when you find out they are raising their kids well or taking care of sick parents, or even fishing, it makes it more difficult to dehumanize them.

People lose their cool quite a bit here. That lack of self control can lead to a ban. Some posters are aware of their thin skinned nature and voluntarily bow out so they have the option to come back (1972, Grand, Obsessed) and then there are posters too stupid to see it and *do* get banned (tums, volprof, mav, gsvol).

Stupid ninnies, the lot of them.
