And yet Biden being 78 in November making him the older than any of the candidates mentioned thus far is no concern at all to anyone on the left or the media. I'd rather have a president showing signs of mental diminishment at the end of his 2nd term rather than months before his first term starts.

As far as Reagan, I don't know. I was still playing little league.

Reagan made his last public appearance in 1993... it's definitely possible that he was in the early stages in 1988.

I think it is fair to say Ronnie was showing signs of dementia that last year or so. The process isn't the same for everyone so it would be hard to establish what impact if any it had on his duty as prez.

My mom's Alzheimer's came on slowly and it seemed to speed up as it progressed. Her cognitive decline was not linear at all. It ramped up over the years.

My father was showing the first signs of dementia at 85. My sister got him on meds. After seeing him this week I'm feeling much better about his mental capabilities. He is sharper now and still quick with a joke.
Now if I could talk him into using a cane I'd be even happier but he isn't having it.

I want to feel bad for them and teach them better ( that’s the dad in me ) I just don’t think it would help . Besides I’d probably laugh at them at the wrong time and get ran out of CHAZ .

Wow. That's encouraging. Have the meds come a long way in the last decade or does he have a case that was ideal for pharm trt?

I guess those meds can have varying effectiveness? My mom has taken a couple different things over the past 2 years for dementia/Alzheimers and I haven't seen much improvement. Maybe they help slow the progression too?

and as far as RR was concerned, looking back, when media outlets were furious when he would act like he didn't know about things they thought he should have known about, he really might not have known. There's also evidence that Woodrow Wilson suffered from dementia after strokes while he was in office.

There are so many maintenance drugs for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s , you have to also take into account that everyone reacts differently to them . The key is find the right one and the right dosage without changing either too much
