Hate crime? Probably knot. A matter of concern? Probably sew.
Is was found by a black man so imagine what his initial reaction was. I used to work offshore as a commercial diver. Me and several other guys that I worked with was on this deep sea drilling platform inside a big toolroom. All the people that was divers was white with maybe 1 or 2 black guys that was riggers. There was a few more of the platforms drilling crew in there that was black. One of the drilling guys found a noose in the room. He started going off asking whi the hell made it looking directly at my bald head. I just went back to working on the equipment in hand. It started getting very uncomfortable with all that was being said. After about 5 minutes one of the other black drilling guys fessed up too it. The original guy that found it directed his anger on him and berated him for being so foolish as to almost start a big fight between the 2 groups. I think most of us there will never forget how dumb that was for that guy to do that in a room full of black and white people that worked for 2 different companies. It has an effect that is no good. Can you see why that black man that worked for Bubba called the FBI especially after Bubba just got nascar to stop flying the rebel flag. Sometimes you have to look at things from a different perspective.

That’s a noose knot. I was wrong yesterday calling it a figure-8 follow through knot. I thought that was an official photo. But my word you have to be agenda-driven to take this as a hate crime. Shame on NASCAR.

Just for more info on the story

Edit: not saying this means anything one way or the other, just providing info

Both can be true. Yes it is a noose. And their organization saw a noose and defended their guy in that heated moment. I would expect every organization to have its guy's back in the moment where they sense that person could be getting threatened...then let investigations happen. But you can't throw your associate under the bus at such a moment. No freakin way.

Fwiw, from what I've read, the events unfolded as:
crewmember > Nascar official > Bubba.

So Nascar took the noose information from the crewmember and it went from there. All said, they should/could have approached it from a lighter stance and framed it as "alleged". But I have absolutely nothing against a large org defending its guy when they feel the individual has been threatened. That is no time to question, antagonize, or be skeptical of the person, especially when they aren't even the one that brought it to you. You support, then investigate. Very similar to our players being in situations, but instead of being accused of a crime, imagine a crime had allegedly been committed against our player.

Thanks for providing. Sounds like Marty is trying to justify his outlandish actions.

How would somebody else know where to do that when nobody but NASCAR knew which garage Bubba would be assigned when the teams arrived. That is if one chooses to believe NASCAR's statement Marty references.

Let's be sure and ignore the FBI investigation's conclusions because, well, because.

Tennessee All-Decade Team?

QB Josh Dobbs
RB Alvin Kamara
WR Jauan Jennings
WR Cordarrelle Patterson
WR Justin Hunter
TE Mychal Rivera
OL Trey Smith
OL Ja’Wuan James
OL Zach Fulton
OL Dallas Thomas
OL Tiny Richardson

What’s yours?

Hard to keep Denarius Moore off here. Luke Stocker too. You can see why we’ve sucked for so long having to go that far back for quality OL.

Welp Bonnaroo in September is officially canceled. Football probably next. 2020 is officially a bust. Wake me up in 2021.

Yeppers. I read early on about Wimbledon purchasing pandemic insurance 17 years ago ($34M in premiums) and their policy paid out $114M for this loss. However it only offset half the revenue lost due to the cancelled event.

Can't disagree much, though Bray with those receivers would be my top choice. Dobbs a close 2nd.

They still came out pretty good if it paid out half the revenue. They will little to no costs with 114m in revenue... probably a better profit margin than they would of gotten if the event happened.
