2020 Presidential Race

The only reason to be excited about the prospect of a Biden presidency, is that it kicks Trump out. I really think Biden would help his cause with independents (perhaps even enough to win it now), if he would commit to only being a one term president. He won't consider running for a 2nd term... if Biden says this now - I think he carries independents 2-1 in November, and we start over again with fresh candidates from both parties in 2024.

Does it matter? The parties have shown they are incapable of providing good choices.

I don't agree with you. John Kasich was a good choice in 2016. He waited too long to get in the race, and the Republican base had a bizarre infatuation with Trump's rhetoric, that couldn't be slowed down.

Washington Redskins defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio doesn’t care if you don’t like his political beliefs.

In response to a tweet about him being a supporter of President Donald Trump, Del Rio tweeted Tuesday night, “I’m 100% for America, if you’re not you can kiss my A$$.” (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

I can't help but feel that no matter who wins, the nation loses.

Only we don't know that to be true because we don't know what a Biden presidency will be like.

The difference between 2016 and 2020 is consistency and game plan. 2016 was always a 3-5 point race. 2020 is a 10-7 point race. Bidens's lead is the most consistent since FDR in 1944. And Trump hasn't found a way to demonize Biden like he did Clinton. The last general election came down to who was hated more, and how much Trump could shift focus to his opponent. Well, this election Trump is the most hated and all the focus in on him due to his handling of COVID-19 and race relations and his attacks just don’t land the way they did against Hillary Clinton.

The attacks on Biden are a different type of attack than what worked against Clinton. With Biden, it's that he is old and frail, and showing signs of cognitive impairment. With Clinton, she was a corrupt liar and a manipulative, self-dealing, con-artist. The attacks against Clinton inspire more anger and resentment than the attacks on Biden do. There is a reason that Trump didn't want to face Biden and he tried as hard as he did to smear him last summer ... he is not as vulnerable to attacks.

Why would I give one crap about what Jack Del Rio or any football coach thinks about anything but football? We aren’t talking rocket scientists here. I don’t care what Jeremy Pruitt thinks about anything other than how he’s going to win games.

I'm just curious what would have happened if all the moderate Dems hadn't dropped out before ST...I honestly think Bernie would have been front runner...he would have picked up alot more delegates in Texas and California
It would be a 4-5 point race.

And yet you are actively supporting the 6.1 instead of going out and supporting the 2.1 or even the -4.1.

The only reason the 6.1 exists instead of the 2.1 or better is because it's the biggest one people will notice before the 8.2.

It's such a dumb argument to start with "yeah my guy sucks, but have you seen the other guy?". Where else does that happen? Where else do people actively support and argue for getting a 6.1 earthquake and treat it like an actual win.

Look at real natural disasters. People dont celebrate that the path of the storm didnt completely wipe out their home. They may be thankful afterwards, but they dont actively cheer for losing most of their stuff.

Reasonable people get the valuables and family out of the way or into safe cover. Instead this nations actively performs rain dances to their chosen god of destruction as its sooo much better.

Stop freaking supporting this crap and we wouldnt have to worry about the 6.1 or 8.2 because freaking reasonable people should be voting for 0.0.

He thinks he is running for the Senate. You may want to tell him what he is running for.

Senate Confirms Trump's 200th Judge, officially fills all appeals court vacancies

"No vacancy left behind."

That quote, repeated over and over by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., in the past year -- to cheers from Republicans and the outrage of Democrats -- has been the creed behind the Senate's single-minded push to confirm as many Trump-nominated federal judges as possible. And the 52-48 confirmation of Cory Wilson to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on Wednesday means that McConnell, in one respect, has quite literally accomplished that goal.

Wilson fills the final remaining federal circuit court vacancy. None have been left behind.

Wilson also marks the 200th overall lifetime-appointed Article III judge to be confirmed by the Senate during Trump's presidency. Article III courts include federal district courts, circuit courts of appeals, the Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of International Trade. That pace is faster than every other president in history except for Jimmy Carter. President Trump's appointees now make up more than one-quarter of the federal judiciary -- a legacy that will long outlast him and McConnell, the author of a memoir titled "The Long Game."

I will be waiting, but things just don't seem to stick to Joe Biden like they did to Hillary Clinton. For all of the negative qualities you can attach to Biden, he is still the guy who has a very sympathetic history. In December of 1972, Joe Biden's wife (Neilia) and infant daughter (Naomi) were killed in a car accident. In May of 2015, Joe Biden's oldest son, Beau, died from brain cancer. Beau Biden was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the former Attorney General of Delaware, who had graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Penn and a J.D. from Syracuse (... but you probably prefer to talk about Hunter, right?). Joe Biden is simply much harder to build up anger for than Hillary Clinton.

I understand the theory, but the reality at this point is that it's one of the two. When faced with that reality, I'll choose the lesser of the two evils, especially when it's the difference between an 8.2 and a 6.1.
I will always gladly entertain any and all viable alternatives. If we were looking at a 6.2 vs a 6.1, now would be a great time to make a "statement" because the difference between the two choices would be negligible.
But an 8.2? That's catastrophic and needs to be avoided by any means necessary.

Joe Biden may have ‘personally raised’ idea to investigate Michael Flynn

Former Vice President Joe Biden appears to have “personally raised the idea” of investigating Michael Flynn for potentially having violated the obscure Logan Act during his phone calls with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, according to newly filed court papers Wednesday.

The previously sealed document also says that former President Barack Obama told top members of his administration that “the right people” should investigate Flynn.

The revelations are contained in handwritten notes prepared by disgraced ex-FBI Agent Peter Strzok that Flynn’s lawyers called “stunning and exculpatory evidence” in the government’s since-abandoned case against President Trump’s former national security adviser.

Strzok’s notes, apparently written on Jan. 4, 2017, were “previously withheld from General Flynn” until finally being turned over on Jan. 23 of this year, his lawyers wrote.
