2020 Presidential Race

So you're vote is more or less important depending on your address?
It ensures each state has a voice. When the FFs wrote the Constitution, the powers of a state meant something. As compared to today where we have an over empowered federal government. It was never meant for larger states to lord over the rest.

Because it dilutes the popular vote?

Because the electoral college prevents, for instance, two populous states like Mexifornia and New York (two of the most Far Left states in the nation) from deciding who will become president. It requires to a degree that a candidate appeal to voters outside of the largest cities.

So as an American, my vote should not be as important if a plurality of the people of the state I live in dont agree with me?

Then what do you propose? Having an election where 5 states and 10 major cities decide the election?

I propose the popular vote decides the presidency. Do you think people's opinions are less valid because of where they live? My vote for POTUS doesnt count because of the state I live in, why is yours more important?

When your candidate wins does your vote count? Did my vote not count in 12? Why are you ok with 5 states and 10 major cities decide the election?

In Mexifornia, Hispanics are the largest ethnic group. Spanish is spoken almost as much as American. About 45% of the residents (notice I didn't say Citizens) of Mexifornia speak a language other than American at home. There are likely five million ILLEGAL ALIENS in Mexifornia. Only about 36% of the state's population is non-Hispanic White. The non-Hispanic white population in the U.S.as a whole is about 76%.

Mexifornia still has MORE electoral votes than any other state.

Why, in the name of James K. Polk, should Mexifornia be allowed to decide any presidential election.

Would that not be the case of anyone who got outvoted? Your vote means as much as the next person in your state, but if you get outvoted you get outvoted. Fifty states each get a voice. Should the voice of any one state mean more than the voice of all the others?

Let me rephrase my previous statement... your address should not dilute or enhance your vote.
Opinion as it relates to geography matters. Giant cities exist in a bubble. There are perfectly valid reasons for not wanting to elect a representative for an entire nation based on a few square miles worth of people.
