Indeed. I was contemplating thoughts of big tomatoes a minute ago while responding to NGV’s post.

Seriously I have never had such productive plants with so many large tomatoes. Early Girl, Better Boy, Big Beef and Red Beefsteak and they are all producing big fat fruit that will fill your hand. Also one Lemon Boy with a lot of nice but smaller gold fruit.

I'm not ready to post pics of mine yet. I've been down this road before, just not with tomatoes. HAHA

I don't know if you still can, but back in the "olden" days the crapper plant on Neyland drive used to keep a pile of treated poop that any Joe Citizen could pull up to and load as much as they wanted. If you were so inclined they also had tomato plants growing all around it that looked "well fed"

Neyland I used to cruise on my Suzuki or Kawasaki back in the day but it’s a bit of a drive from Houston. I bought a truckload of mushroom compost 2-3 years ago and mixed it half and half with container soil from Lowe’s. Mixed in a few handfuls of organic food pellets when I planted the seedlings and then hit em a couple weeks later with some Miracle Gro. Voila.

If you live in Houston those pics must have been made in January since summer there is scorched earth time and reminds me of the scene in the first Terminator movie. I don't know how anyone lives in that hot ass place.

The next 2 months are the worst of course, but it’s already hot enough that I try to do any outside work before 10 or after 6 to avoid heat stroke.
