Thoughts on Olivier Nkamhoua?

Over half of the guys I listed meet your “criteria”, I’m sure you’ll have something new to add though....

Derek Willis 22mpg/8ppg
Nick Richards 30mpg/14ppg/8rpg
Marshall Plumlee 31mpg/8ppg/9rpg
Jeff Withey 31mpg/14ppg/9rpg
Travis Releford 34mpg/12ppg
Brandon Robinson 30mpg/12ppg
Jay Huff 25mpg/9ppg/6rpg
Casey Prather 28mpg/14ppg
Erik Murphy 26mpg/12ppg

All those guys played less than 10min during their 2nd years ?

Uh oh me smells
A rat

Poor BTO is having to embellish the numbers to make his list longer.

Must be harder than he thought to find success stories with guys that weren’t in the rotation as sophomores.

I hit 7 teams, and found multiple guys that met this ridiculous criteria of yours, shall I continue with more teams...or you gonna admit maybe there’s more than you thought?

Also, @BruinVol...

Would you say senior Kyle Alexander was a needed player, a guy you were glad we had?

Suggesting you have to be 2/3 of 20mpg/8ppg/7rpg to be a “good” player or “key” contributor is pretty crazy...tons of guys Tennessee has had that didn’t hit 2/3 of those numbers and we were glad to have on our side.

Glad you’re realizing guys can average 10mpg or less as sophomores and still develop into big time players for their programs

Possible sure never said it wasn’t but extremely unlikely

As far as my 8/6 that’s too high

7/6 is probably better and also blocks has to matter and defense as well

Frank Kaminsky 10mpg-4ppg/34mpg-19ppg-8rpg
Justin Holliday 15mpg-2ppg/29mpg -11ppg
Dexter Pittman. 7mpg-2ppg/19mpg-10ppg-6rpg
John Teske 12mpg-3ppg/28mpg-11ppg-7rpg
Demetris Nichols 13mpg-4ppg/35mpg-19ppg

Then theres a guy named Darryl Reynolds from Villanova who I can see ORN having a similar career. Went from 3mpg as a frosh to starting 37 games his last two years, 24mpg as a senior. Not guady stats - 4ppg & 5rpg, but was a key part of 68 wins in two season and a Natty.

Good post, more common than Bruin thinks.

Add reynolds and Pittman to the short list

The others don’t match the discussion

Kaminsky should match the discussion if ten is the benchmark. I don't care if you think its "under ten" - the guy ended up National Player of the Year.

I said under 10 but honestly the bench mark is if the player was in the rotation or not. Kaminsky played in every single game his sophomore year so he was clearly in the rotation.

so he played more than 10min AND in every game. If OLM does that this year he’s on tract to be a solid player for us

But if he plays 9.5 mpg and misses 2 then he’s likely a scrub that would be better off sitting on the bench at ETSU... 😂

I think it’s pretty clear that kids that aren’t playing in the rotation in year 2 have one hell of an uphill battle to climb if they want to be winning players at an elite level like we hope to be.

From today we have seen a very small list of names given which means it’s a very small % of guys that overcome that circumstance.

Can it be done ? Sure

but with the way we are on fire in recruiting right now it seems a whole lot more likely we could just sign a solid player than hope we develop the next Kenny Hall that gives us 6/4 as a senior.

Lol

So excited to read more names for your list of unfactual names aren’t you ?

Few more for ya...

Good short list over the years. I like how you added those Kenny hall
Type success stories to make the list look longer. Well done

You think that’s 1/10 maybe 1/20 if you listed the players that didn’t become “success stories”?

You like those odds or do you think Barnes is recruiting now at such a level that can 10% Longshot success rate is not worth waiting on ??
