Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Well you are going to have to elaborate

I was at my apartment watching a movie with my girlfriend and then we heard a gun shot, then 2 seconds later we heard another, and then a second later we heard 4-5 shots in a row and at that point we knew there was a shooting on our hallway. I called 911 and 20 some minutes later I looked out the peephole and saw a cop lining crime scene tape blocking entry to my hallway. I couldn’t see the scene because it was right on the other corner of the hallway and I was so tempted to take a peak but the cop told me to go the other way and so me and my girlfriend left. As we left we noticed they taped up the entrance to the parking garage as well as the entire complex.

Wow! Glad you and your girl are safe.

Golf shoes next time? I tore a hell of a bunch of new grass out when I fell and slid 3 feet down the hill before I got stopped.
Years and me and a buddy were fishing on the Caney Fork.... early morning we see a guy wearing all his Orvis fly fishing gear walking up to talk to us and he slips.... stumbles and falls into the water.... we started laughing and asked him if he was ok.... he got up smiling and shook it off.... he walks off down the bank.... about three hours later me and my friend are in rare form from a bottle of Early Times and a doob..... my friend is cheap and would drink sterno ... we see the guy up on the top of the bank heading back towards us. As he starts to make his way down the bank.... he slips... both feet came out from under him and he landed on his back and started sliding down the bank.... he gets to the edge and has rolled over on his stomach .... he’s grabbing for something to hang on to, but he end up going over the edge of the bank and down to the river bed.... about a 5-6 ft drop.... ends up landing on his back/side and let’s out a loud “ugggh” when he hit the ground. He’s about 20 yards away from us and we started laughing like hell.... after a few seconds I asked him if he was ok..... and he replied with a very exuberant “F you!”..... this was like pouring gasoline on the fire because we really started laughing then.... I still laugh to this day when I think about that. We saw him bust his ass in epic fashion twice

Sounds like your apartment complex is a happening place

That's hilarious. I'm laughing now .

Dang PV. Stay safe out there

Good. I have been working on trying to get cable at the new house for 1 month tomorrow, and finally got someone ( not the person that I needed unfortunately) to show up yesterday. It took my talking to 5 different people on 5 different occasions at Comcast, and stopping 3 cable trucks on the road to acknowledge that the address existed. This is what happens after they closed the local Comcast office in my town, and also all surrounding towns for good (they blame the virus). Bullsh!t.

So, I called Dish Network. I had an appointment for today between 12-5 p.m. After a few hours waiting, I get a recorded call telling me that instead of 12-5, the technician would be there between 5:15 and 6:30. At 6:30, another recorded call telling me between 7:00 and 8:15. Then, at about 7:30, he would arrive between 8:15 and 9:30 p.m. Each recording said that he would be installing for about 3 hours and a half.

How in the holy f*** do they think a technician can arrive between 8:15 and 9:30 p.m., and work until after midnight, installing a dish in the dark? How do they think a customer is going to wait from noon until midnight? I knew by 6:30 that he wasn't going to show. I cancelled the appointment.

The house is in a heavily wooded area , down a narrow gravel road. The nearest cable attachment point is half a mile away, and Comcast wants many thousands to run the line. The person I talked to wasn't exactly sure how much, and the person I need to talk to won't show up to tell me. There is fiber optic cable running on a pole within 35 feet of the house, but they say they can't splice into that. So, that's out. I'm not positive that we can get line of sight for a dish either, but if they don't show up for the appointment, it's a moot point. I hate big business.

Okay, what's the liw down on barrier dunes? Are they crazy ppeople there, or will I be the only one?😂
I have been on the grounds. It is way out on the Cape. Always a few of those for sale, but they sell pretty quick. I don't know anyone who lives there full time, but they stay rented pretty well. It seems like a nice place from what I know.

Are you booked there ?
