Systemic Racism

Ask the notorious Daniel Shaver who was murdered in cold blood about being a law abiding citizen.

Let’s ask Breonna Taylor the ruthless EMT who was murdered while sleeping in her own bed.

Let’s put the murders aside. It’s also about the harassing and violating the rights of citizens.

Take about 30 minutes and research YouTube and you will find plenty of videos of cops harassing and violating the rights of law abiding citizens.

It shouldn’t matter your race, gender, or political spectrum everyone should demand better from those who took an oath to protect and serve and uphold the constitution.
The Breonna Taylor situation needs to be fixed today.... no knock warrants need to be ended right away....As for the killing of innocent people..... I don’t know if it can be completely corrected..... With so many of our cities Turning into war zones...... how many times can a cop get hit, shot at, have to clean up dead victims before he shoots too quickly or is too aggressive trying to apprehend someone...... they are all human and will handle it differently.

Here's an example. Ryan Leaf.

In May 2009, Leaf was indicted on burglary and controlled-substance charges in Texas. He was in a drug-rehabilitation program in British Columbia, Canada at the time of the indictment,[89] and was arrested by customs agents at the border on his return to the U.S as he was intending to fly to Texas to surrender on the indictment.[90][91] However, his attorney Jeffrey A. Lustick successfully blocked the fugitive warrant extradition process, therefore legally allowing Leaf to go to Texas on his own. Lustick later successfully got the Washington fugitive action against Leaf dismissed with prejudice.[92] On June 17, he posted a $45,000 bond in Washington state for the criminal charges in Texas.[93] In April 2010, he pleaded guilty in Amarillo, Texas to seven counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and one count of delivery of a simulated controlled substance, all felonies. State District Judge John B. Board sentenced him to ten years of probation and fined him $20,000.[94]

On March 30, 2012, he was arrested on burglary, theft and drug charges in his home town of Great Falls, Montana.[95] Four days later, he was arrested again on burglary, theft, and two counts of criminal possession of dangerous drugs.[96] As part of a plea bargain on May 8, 2012, he pleaded guilty to one count of felony burglary and one count of criminal possession of a dangerous drug.[97]

In late April 2012, Texas authorities issued two arrest warrants for him and set his bond at $126,000.[98]

On June 19, 2012, Leaf was sentenced to seven years in custody of the Montana Department of Corrections, with two years suspended if he abided by the conditions imposed by District Judge Kenneth Neil in Montana. He was to spend the first nine months of his sentence in a lockdown addiction treatment facility, Nexus Treatment Center in Lewistown, Montana.[99] But on January 17, 2013, Leaf was remanded to Montana State Prison in Deer Lodge after being found guilty of "behavior that violated conditions of his drug treatment placement." He was also accused of threatening a program staff member.[100]

In May 2014, Leaf was incarcerated at Crossroads Correctional Facility in Shelby, Montana.[101]

On September 9, 2014, a Texas judge sentenced Leaf to five years' imprisonment, giving credit for time spent in prison in Montana. According to ESPN, Leaf would not see further time in jail, but would also not be released from Montana prison.[102] On December 3, 2014, Leaf was released from prison and placed under the supervision of Great Falls Probation and Parole.
This guy, after all this, got a job as a College Football Analyst for ESPN. Probably one of the coolest gigs in the country. After being arrested multiple times. Do you think a black man would be afforded that same opportunity. I think a black man would still be in prison.

Ryan Leaf was arrested AGAIN in 2020 so I'm not sure if he is still working for ESPN.

Am jealous. Both ways. Charlotte is a long way from Chatt though.

1 of you guys start a thread and help me figure out how close we are to the Rapture. For the 1st time in my life I actually believe we might be close. So much wickedness. Truly does seem like this country, and the world, has lost its minds.
I have no idea how close we are but try to live as though it'll be any second. ;) Hope you're well.

Here’s the rub in my opinion: police brutality against any race is abhorrent. However, brutality even slightly slanted towards black people is magnified 100x due to this countries history and its relationship with Black people. Fair or not, it logically paints the picture that we still are not over the issue. And why would we be? Blacks didn’t get the right to vote as a citizen until 60 years ago. There are many, many people still alive from that time.
Siap. But the 13th amendment was more than 60 years ago. More like 160 years ago.

We were largely desegregated about 60 years ago. And got rid of some really bad Jim Crow laws 60 years ago.

But this is my constant issue with this subject. The facts are out there, why make up crap when the truth is already "bad enough"?

If you cant be honest about the issues how do expect things to get better?

Driving while black is another obvious example. I grew up in Knoxville and at least half of my black friends had a personal examples of this. My one friend drove a Lexus back in HS and he had MULTIPLE occurrences of being pulled for NO reason.
I think that's just Knoxville. Been pulled over 4 times ever. 3 of them in Knoxville, only once was I speeding or anything else.

Do you realize that there are several examples of black men arrested multiple multiple times and are out free. Hell George Floyd himself was arrested at least 12 times

It's pretty much a super power at this point.

Some get it at birth, some of us get it thru extradoridnary situations. Everyone's is different, but it's all more than what other races can do.
Most of us dont even understand how we do it, or why we have it in the first place.

All we know is that we are instant villains just for being different because of our race.

You completely missed my point. How many with an extensive criminal history have been hired by ESPN to be on TV as an analyst?

Here's an emotionally satisfying explanation of white privilege. The problem is that it's not rationally satisfying.

EVERY step forward that proves "white" privilege in the above video is actually tied to wealth/poverty, and not race. To call it "racial" privilege is an outright lie. What needs to happen is, we need to break down the systems and culture that keep blacks poor. Those systems are liberal entitlements.

For the record, I had 7 of the 8 setbacks in the video above (and probably should have counted 8 of 8) and I'm white. It's not a race issue. It's a poverty and broken family problem.

So much this. I have screamed this since day 1. Poverty is the problem, not any race. Poverty doesnt discriminate. Many times it is caused by poor choices though, not circumstance...

In the black culture, it seems to be tied to the design of liberal entitlement programs, as well as media promotion of certain subcultures that normalize broken homes and young, unwed moms having lots of kids.

Oh, and apparently, if you don't vote for the liberals that keep these systems going, you're not really black. (SO not racist!)

I love these exercises in futility. Demonstrate how easy White people have it to make them feel band and hope (or force them) to handicap their own lives to make others feel better about themselves.

That being said, my White privilege is OFF THE CHARTS according to this video.

So, if we add some critical thinking to this, this is how it plays out.

White people are inherently race privileged.
To prove it, look at these handicaps that blacks have to endure:
  1. Divorced/Unwed
  2. No father
...

Pause.

These are two of the larger indicators of poverty, behavioral problems, dropping out of school, and crime. most of the following will stem from this.

So, if the argument is that this is an inherent racial issue (racial privilege), then it's saying that white people are inherently better at being married, and are inherently--genetically--better at staying to emotionally and financially support their progeny. Conversely, it's saying that black fathers are inherently dead beat dads that get their rocks off and leave their responsibilities for someone else to take care of.

Is this really the "fight racism" point they think they're making, or are they actually racist, denegrating, and offensive as hell?
