George Floyd Protest/Riots

It’s a little tone deaf, but she’s honoring the military. Yet, people will fail to understand, lose their minds and scream for her job... which is kind of ironic.
I don’t think she was honoring the military. I think she was trying to justify the actions of a bunch of dickheads who are tearing up cities under the guise that they are fighting fascists.

I read the article. It states that major crime complaints fell, but it doesn't address whether major crimes actually fell, which is bizarre to me. I didn't look into who is behind the study, though they are referenced as "scientists".

I imagine it would take a while to track convictions for crimes committed in that particular span of time. Doesn’t really seem worth it

I'd say there is value in understanding the full outcome. This is an LA Times article (about NYC) referencing that this was an idea originating from a former LA police chief... Wonder if this influences the narrative.

I was not not even aware the state could step in. Isn't that what happened in Detroit after they declared bankruptcy and had a bunch of hurdles to jump?

Not sure about Detroit, but the TN State Constitution allows for the State Comptroller to takeover under certain circumstances involving balanced budgets.
