I don’t believe that’s correct. If an employer wants to test safety sensitive positions but not others that’s well within their rights as an employer. Not ambiguous at all. The company doesn’t allow it and it’s a perfectly logical policy. And they make the rules. If people can’t abide by or don’t like the policy, they don’t have to work for that company. Pretty simple concept. The other part is you can’t play favorites. You test the operators then you have to test the secretaries, salesmen, shipping clerks and everyone else.
Systemic racism is a dog whistle for liberals that is used to stoke racial tension and White guilt. It is also the best go to for a scapegoat since its such a touchy subject many limp wrist lefties find it too difficult to discuss.
First thing people need to realize is that we all aren't created equal. That's science.
Secondly, we all have equal opportunity. Your poor choices in life at squandering that opportunity are mostly your fault and your fault alone.
Does racism exist? Yep. Everyone here is guilty of it.
Is it holding anyone back? Mostly no. I am sure somewhere in some place someone didn't get a promotion because of racism but I would surmise it is statistically inconsequential.
White guilt is the dumbest argument that you conservatives like to trot out. I don't feel one ounce of guilt for being white. I enjoy being white and I enjoy the advantages it has provided. You're just an a$$hole if you don't acknowledge that being white has certain advantages. I have had sh!tty credit and never had difficulty finding a place to live. I have never had a store employee follow me around the store worried I was going to steal something. I go into every job interview confident in my abilities and confident the interviewer won't hate me because of my skin color. My parents never told me how to avoid being killed by the police. I don't feel guilt, but I do feel empathy and desire to change the status quo for those that didn't have the same advantages.

Agreed. A good friend of mine was super smart, probably too smart for his own good in some ways. He didn’t like responsibility so he decided to get a job making $40K or so a year (I’m not talking right of college but in his 30s) with no real progression opportunities unless you wanted to get into upper management, which he didn’t. He said he was good and was married to a teacher so between the two of them they didn’t hurt for anything since they didn’t have kids and lived within their means. Eventually his self worth got too low though. He turned to drugs, his wife ended up leaving him, and then he committed suicide. People need to have some sort of drive and purpose. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that mental health issues are on the rise at the same time that it seems more people than ever don’t have the drive to succeed.I dont belittle anyone that doesnt choose to work twice as hard. If you want a laid back mediocre life, have at it. Plenty of people are happy with that.
I just belittle those that claim to want more but dont wont to do the work to get it.
