It's symbolism can't be ignored.

You don't know the pain, fear and hate that is generated by that symbolic act. I knew someone who had a relative lynched. He cried when he told me about it and also said that he never thought he could ever have a white friend.

I'm still saddened by the memory of that conversation.

Maybe the symbolism is where I get lost on it. I tend to be slow on the uptake with symbolism...hated literature classes when the discussion turned to symbolism.
I wouldnt see an effigy of Obama, Bush, MLK, Reagan, Ghandi, etc and immediately think it meant racism.

Problem with your post is most bleeding hearts never think of White people as immigrants, only people of color. Most think we came over on the Mayflower, killed all the indians, and all owned slaves.
