lol. No one is "minimizing" what happened to black people. See..this is that "conversation about race" that a lot of people talk about wanting to have but then get all upset when facts are brought into the conversation. All you want to hear is White people apologizing for what 99.9% had nothing to do with. You want White people to admit to being the root cause for all the problems in the black community...but thats not the case. No, it’s the mindset of trying to whitewash history by minimizing what happened to Black people. It’s lazy and disgusting.
lol. Ever heard of Irish people?Name one example of all white men facing any version of systemic oppression in this countries history. It hasn’t happened. Yet you not only feel like you are capable of understanding, but also attempt to diminish what happened.

Maybe the symbolism is where I get lost on it. I tend to be slow on the uptake with symbolism...hated literature classes when the discussion turned to symbolism. It's symbolism can't be ignored.
You don't know the pain, fear and hate that is generated by that symbolic act. I knew someone who had a relative lynched. He cried when he told me about it and also said that he never thought he could ever have a white friend.
I'm still saddened by the memory of that conversation.
My whiskey swilling, potato eating, rowdy ancestors did.Name one example of all white men facing any version of systemic oppression in this countries history. It hasn’t happened. Yet you not only feel like you are capable of understanding, but also attempt to diminish what happened.
If these are the only types of "systemic oppressions" you referenced in your other post, you should have been more clear. Also, need to expand to existence outside America...and your oppression will be easily found. They weren’t allowed to vote? Go to the same school? Drink from the same water fountain? This is why boomer opinions are considered ****.
