so we've prevented the average citizen from having family funerals because of COVID, but since George Floyd is a political opp all that doesn't matter
This is one thing that does seriously piss me off . I’ve listen to NGV about this but I watched a man I didn’t know ( I’m guessing in his 50s) break down and cry in front of me a few weeks ago because his mom had died in NJ ( I believe he said ) and he wasn’t allowed to be with her when she passed . These F’in politicians playing with people like that then posing for photos so they can be seen fighting the good fight does seriously piss me off .
Thanks!Over charging/multiple charges puts pressure on the defendant to make a deal.
The system is set up to make deals.
There are not enough courtrooms, judges, or prosecutors to be able to take every case to trial. Not even close. Judges, as a matter of routine, encourage parties to negotiate a plea.
I don't know the exact percentage of cases that are plead out but it would surprise me if it were less than 90%.
Some links on the subject.
Only 2% of federal criminal defendants go to trial, and most who do are found guilty
Most criminal cases end in plea bargains, not trials
How many criminal cases actually go to trial?

Only one I questioned about being race related was being asked to leave a restaurant because of his hat or not wraring a nice shirt. They do enforce dress codes at some places.I do not doubt any of these stories.
The bank one is contingent (somewhat) on when he asked for 10K; before or after she called the cops. 10K is the cash limit that triggers bank reporting (our stupid drug laws). Would want to know more about this story but as I said I don't doubt he's faced scrutiny due to his race throughout his life.
