Good move. It's a very lazy attack and done too frequently by both parties.I’ll take the Hitler remark back. No one is Hitler. However, she is a threat to domestic security and civil liberty. Ask the citizens of Michigan who were told if they wanted a haircut to Google how to do a haircut while her husband tried to take a boat out on Memorial Day weekend.
There is no reason to hate Mattis, I question his motives but still respect the man.
What about the motives of this guy?

At some point it isn't motives...it's calling a spade a spade.
At some point you have to realize that it takes being an adept politician to reach flag rank so yes I am skeptical of all of them that speak out. The majority of retired flag officers sit on defense contractor boards, defense think tanks or have executive positions with lobbyist or contractors. Not to mention speaking tours. So for those reasons I maintain a healthy amount of skepticism.
This is also 2020, so I'm sure more weirdness will be upon us soon. Five months is an eternity in politics.
Those debates will be a mess, but probably entertaining tv to watch. Both of them have tempers. Push-up challenges and other shenanigans.I’m not being cute when I say that, considering the nature of both candidates on the stage and their propensity to dig themselves into a hole, there’s a non-zero that one of them says the n-word on stage in the “heat of the moment” if debates actually happen this fall.
When most of these senior level guys are silent for so long then all come out at the same time and say the same thing, it is compelling (or should be without hiding behind “skepticism”).
FWIW the ex general officer writing this article is a visiting professor at Johns Hopkins.
I can start finding more of these ex general officers saying the same thing...but at some point “skepticism” is just a cover for not liking the hard truth of reality.

Ex-UAW president cops to corruption charges
2020 ELECTION
Former United Auto Workers president Gary Jones, a top ally to Democrats at both the state and national levels, pleaded guilty to embezzlement on Wednesday.

Jones admitted to using more than $1 million in union funds on various extravagances, including clothing, golf outings and equipment, vacation rentals, liquor, fine dining, and premium cigars. The union—which is still under investigation after a federal probe began more than five years ago—endorsed presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden in April and has spent big backing Democrats in recent years.
In the 2018 cycle alone, the UAW's political action committee gave $200,000 to the Michigan Democratic Party and $68,000 to Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer's (D.) campaign. Disgraced former UAW vice president Norwood Jewell, who admitted to receiving illegal benefits from Fiat Chrysler executives, served as a party super delegate in 2016 and remained listed as a party leader following his guilty plea. The union has also continued to support Whitmer through her controversial handling of the coronavirus pandemic, calling her a "leading voice" who has been at all times "inclusive and focused on building a consensus to do what is right for the health and safety of UAW members" in a May statement.
The union also gave $10,000 to Sen. Gary Peters (D., Mich.) prior to his election in 2014 and has since contributed $1,000,000 to Senate Majority PAC in the 2020 cycle, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Aligned with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.), the PAC launched an ad in March attacking Republican Senate hopeful John James, who has outraised the embattled Michigan Democrat for three consecutive quarters. UAW also gave $105,000 to Michigan Senate Victory 2020, a joint fundraising committee that supports both Peters and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
The PAC, Biden, Whitmer, and Peters did not respond to requests for comment.
Despite the ongoing investigation, both Peters and Biden praised the union as GM employees went on strike in September 2019. Nine UAW officials had already admitted to wrongdoing at the time, and former Region 5 director Vance Pearson attended negotiations with the auto giant just days before he was scheduled to attend a federal court hearing in Missouri. Pearson went on to plead guilty to embezzlement in February.

Where were their criticisms while we were expanding wars overseas? Soldiers needlessly dying for nothing? I can tell you where most of them were, looking at that fat boardroom seat at a defense contractor.

Why would it be a mistake if the governor isn't going to allow people to attend?High unemployment has put states such as Ohio and North Carolina in play. Trump can still win. A lot can change in 5 months, but his path to victory is murkier. There are more states in play now, which he must win, then what was the case in 2016.
On a side note, pulling the Republican National Convention out of Charlotte would be a very big mistake. I hope he follows through with that threat.
I'm not a Democrat; never have been, and except for a few things here and there I've always admired Mattis and hated the fact I didn't get to meet him when he was in Afghanistan. And just like that . . . Democrats loved a General named Mad Dog. View attachment 284787
The problem with Biden is he will get the whole corrupt gang back together. He'll have Susan Rice, Valerie Jarrett, Holder, Comey etc.. back in positions of power.I want Trump to win as well but out of that crowd that was running Biden was the only one that didn't make me piss my pants. Sure if he wins he will try to throw some red meat to the radical antifa base but it will be 4 years of basically nothing significant. He has never accomplished anything in his life and that's especially true for the political life
I would say they were looking at the constitution. I get that it is inconceivable the president wouldn’t understand this, but here we are, literally. Their concerns are centered around using the military to police US citizens.
Did you read the article? Dubik even uses the example of what happened in Iraq as a lesson of what not to do for the President. And let’s also be clear, while active, these guys follow orders, neither one of us have a clue as to where they stood personally, but as retirees, they can voice these opinions. Hell, by the article, I would suppose Dubik wasn’t a fan of Iraq and it’s strategy while he was active, and of course he is t going to voice it then.
Again - this is reality. Guys that really know what they are talking about and can speak about it are saying the president’s approach and rhetoric here is dangerous and dumb.
The irony for Trump is that had he played this right he'd be benefitting greatly. By going down the rhetorical road he has he alienated people who craved some law and order response (lacking from many of the governors/mayors) but cringe at the use of military vs citizens.
I don't know if Art of the Deal stuff to threaten one position with a goal of bringing govs/mayors closer to a law and order response or just his true idea about how to deal with the situation but it may be the reason he loses the election. Strategic error.

President Trump will win the Election and it will be fun to see the Democrats lose their shyte once again. President Trump will defeat Senile Joe and I think the Republicans gain control of the US House to go along with the Senate. It will be four more years of the Democrats screaming about voter fraud, voter disenfranchisement and foreign interference. The irony for Trump is that had he played this right he'd be benefitting greatly. By going down the rhetorical road he has he alienated people who craved some law and order response (lacking from many of the governors/mayors) but cringe at the use of military vs citizens.
