Hiring discrimination is a bigger problem. There are a ton of good paying jobs that don't need degrees but just a connection at the job or a hiring manager who likes you. Black people for the most part are shut out of those jobs. I know a ton of white guys with no education making good money.

Black fathers regardless of marriage status are more involved with their children then white men.

Which is an amazing stat considering that most black men don't have custody of their children after a divorce or out of wedlock birth.

Maybe Hispanics are more religious. Black people are way more Christian and religious than white people . That is a statistical fact.

Two things about Hispanics. They come here with a strong family culture and they are mostly more religious than most Americans in general. So they have that working for them.

With regards to your comment on black people being more religious, if that were the case, you wouldn't have all of the corruption, chaos and violence that is present right now. It wasn't always like that. The black church has become and arm of the DNC, which has been incorporating a liberal agenda into the church.

Lets not get it wrong, there are obvious external conditions that are influencing the black community, but there are also just as big of a problem with internal conditions. There's enough blame to go around to everybody.

C’mon dude. You’re really reaching. I’ve served in the military and can’t remember a single racist incident. I had worked at the same place 24 years and I promise we never hired someone just because they were white. It always helps to have a connection somewhere you’re trying to get a job at but your skin color is irrelevant.

Oh. There was a "black wall street". It was the Greenwood neighborhood in a town called Tulsa in Oklahoma. The myth is what you said earlier, about "stealing wealth" like Greenwood was a bustling center for commerce that rivaled anything the White man had thus had to be destroyed and if it hadn't happened yall would be sitting pretty on the economic food chain. It was just a small little area that saw some black businesses get created and exist due to folks working their asses off in the oil fields. Calling it "wall street" is a gigantic stretch in logic. Hell, might as well call Turkey Creek the "Wall Street of Tennessee"...The name itself was just a gimmick to attract more black folks because they envisioned quick economic gains..

Jesus, better put a caveat here...What happened to Black Wall Street is inexcusable.

The issue isn’t rape or murder. It’s almost always drugs. The War on Drugs has done more harm than good.

I'm genuinely asking how do we fix this then. And I'm not talking weed.
While some drugs aren't as bad as others. We don't need Crack, meth, fentenayl(sp?) On our streets. So how do we stop this war but still get the worse ones off the streets?

This is a bootstrap crowd. They feel that if one person can pull themselves up that all people have the ability to do so. Never mind the generations of poverty growing up in the projects. You need money, you commit a crime, you go to jail, you get out, can’t get a job, back to needing money. Rinse repeat over and over and over again. So yes, it’s systemic. And no, I don’t know the answer. The government, whether it be republican or Democrat, has **** all over these people and has done nothing to help alleviate the problem.

I'm willing to bet that 90% of that is because of the destruction of the family unit and no parental figures. Single parent households and having babies with no daddies at 14 seems to be pretty common in the black community. No one talks about that because then you'd have to admit children are better off with a ::gasp:: "nuclear family".

Poverty, education, crime, drugs, gangs can all be traced back to the pravelence of single parent or no parent households.

I would like to get your opinion in something that deals with institutional racism. First deals with the United Negro College Fund. Now isn’t that, by its very name the definition of institutional racism? A fund dedicated to a color of people that excludes whites? Correct me if I am wrong, but last time I checked there is no such thing as a United Caucasian College Fund. Also best in mind that black people are eligible to get virtually every other form of college aid that whites do.

Next is about employment. Now do you believe it’s easier for an employer to terminate a black or white person? Are there any fears whatsoever of firing either one? I know the answer to this but would love to know what you think.

I actually gave him a solution.

Sit down in person and ask someone of color how they think their life is different than his because of their color. He won't be behind the anonymity of his keyboard so he'll be more inclined to listen and less inclined being a smug piece of ****. That effect is universal.

He won't get that honest discussion here. When he's not surrounded by people like *you* slapping his ass in agreement, he's engaging in vile back and forths with people like me. No one comes here to change their opinions. Literally no one.

I think it would be much more instructive for unsuccessful African Americans to sit down with successful African Americans and find out exactly what made them successful. That exercise would be just as useful. I expect just as with any other race or ethnicity it would lead to the conclusion that personal choices are the single biggest factor in determining ones success or lack thereof.

Hiring discrimination is legal. Do you think jobs aren't competitive? Your lack of a competitive advantage is probably your own fault. Improve your skillset. Thats what I have done my whole life.

A lot of times the ones who try are more screwed then the ones who don't. And I'm not even saying that from a black perspective. That's an American issue.
Where I work there is a mother who is in the same job as I but a little bit more of a pay raise ahead of me due to experience. She has 2 kids. Her fiance is still around and works but with that they still can't afford to get married because they would lose their assistance and would not be able to afford to take care of their kids. This is where wages need to be fixed

It depends. Sometimes people get married and have kids then grow apart and selfishly instead of staying for their kids they split. Sometimes its because 2 18 year olds have some fun one night and the daddy isn't ready to take on that responsibility so he leaves. Sometimes it is drugs and crime.
Maybe its an early death from a health issue. There are many reasons

Wages but even more important in some places is the damn cost of living. Large cities are notoriously expensive and just about ensure anyone without a very high paying job will struggle.

I agree to a certain extent. I was raised ooor. My POS dad was a druggie who couldn’t hold a job so my mom left him when I was a baby. I was a sickly child and needed many hospitalizations. Mom worked as hard as she could but in the end had to go on welfare. She was educated but could not find a job. Looking at things now. People getting $600+ a week on top of regular unemployment. That’s ridiculous. There are many who don’t even make $600 a week working 50+ hours. It does seem like the ones who try are more screwed.

Yep. You mom is one that should get help and deserves it. We need more incentive for those who try.
Also this 600 a week thing is crazy. I am one of those right now I'm getting 2 weeks worth of paychecks in one is nice, but its not fair for those who are out there struggling and having to work everyday in this while I get to stay home do whatever and get paid nice for it

I wouldnt define our jobs as skilled. But its not a high school teenager job either. We are kind of in the middle. All of us who work in this position have worked our way up from the bottom to get where we are now. A degree does help but is not required, but its a position where one would assume you could take and raise a family on. 2 of us are actually working this job while going to school and getting our degrees
