George Floyd Protest/Riots

That's funny. If he wanted to get dictatorial, he's had as much of an opportunity over the last week as you could imagine.

I get it. MSM and their theories but this past week they've kicked their game up not just one notch, but reporting all's opinions as fact and wild speculation as the truth. Maybe not the best analogy, but to me it's as if they know this is their one shot to get their ratings back and to further advance their agenda, they've shoved all their chips into the table and said "all in".

I guess what I'm wondering is if this guy arrested in chattanooga would have been within the law if he had a concealed carry permit.
I mean I had several cases after they passed the law where the police/state tried to find a way around it for black kids but they never stuck.

Basically, what I’m saying is:
This post is not legal advice. Consult a lawyer before traveling with a firearm in a vehicle or going armed in public in TN.

Will Biden apologize for calling Floyd a Super Predator? Thank goodness you don't like photo op's so you are against this. Maybe he can get a bottle of hot sauce from Hillary's purse before he goes.
I hope he ain’t noways tired when he gits down here to Houston.

I am a 67-year-old white man whose soul is troubled by the attitudes of many on here. My heart grieves for George Floyd and others. I want to speak to white people here because I believe we need to do some serious soul-searching. I'm not saying that other groups don't need to, also, but I believe in looking in to see what is within me before I look out to see what is within others.

As one who believes the Bible, I believe all people throughout history have failed in many ways to live righteously and justly in their relations with their fellow humans. I don't think we have suddenly arrived morally, and that we today have improved so much that we now treat others unfailingly as we should. I think many of us would agree that we are often more blind to our own faults, than we are to the faults of others.

I know many of you do not share my Christian convictions, and I'm not here to argue. As a follower of Jesus, I desire to please Him and obey Him. But, if that is not where you are at, I hope you will still see that soul-searching is profitable to help us to live a better life.

I want to share some verses from the Bible.

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me and know my anxious thoughts;
And see if there be any hurtful way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way.
Psalm 139:23-24

In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12.

Are they still protesting downtown tonight? I had an equipment inspection in the area and the customer called to confirm and cancel. Said they were told by HPD to shut down early if you can and leave the area.

Not trying to pick a fight but what do us white people do who have never done anything against someone due to race in our lives?

Sad but not surprising.

Good question but I have not been following it. Where I am in Willis is a pretty rural scene and I have not been down to Houston in awhile.

Yes, I’ve lived through all the riots since the 60’s. There has been no leadership to cease these Events from occurring . Politicians looking to be re-elected (LBJ) enacted legislation that was mis directed to offer a helping hand in a manner that turned out to be enabling rather than helpful. You think it’s better right now? . I don’t. Starting with Rodney King it just got quieter. Quieter has not been better it’s just more intense festering underneath. More legislation helped minorities become first time house buyers to the criticism of white America Structured violence against blacks finally got news print as opposed to earlier black men who were dragged off to their death behind pick up trucks never to be seen or heard of again. But until white Americans decide they have to be part of the solution there will be no solution. Unarmed black men will continue to have their lives snuffed out by rogue cops

Politicians will continue to be part of the problem and not Part of the solution. William Barr will continue to enable Trump by dispersing legally demonstrating folks so Trump could first threaten to sic the military on Americans in their own states ( an illegal act). The demonstrators were hit with tear gas and rubber bullets so Trump could have his picture tsken holding a Bible in front of the “Presidents” church

And those “plants” you proudly show with a pix and imply they are not? You have no facts whether they are or are not, IMO. Your citing your opinion based on your historical observation. My reference to plants was the example of the two white female attorney’s one of whom has been arrested 11 times now for attending these events using a peaceful demonstrator As a shield and while standing behind them and throwing stuff at the cops

The cops know this. But, You’ll never see it discussed by Hannity or Limbaugh or reported by Brietbart, Fox New, the Washington Examiner the NY Post

As Vince Lombardi said .... if you’re not part of the solution - you’re part of the problem

Yawn. It’s really as simple as the old saying “you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink”. The problem isn’t systematic racism it’s systematic victimhood. You have people being told that their oppressed, targeted, etc when all the while they have every opportunity, if not more, to better themselves. The only people targeted are criminals and if there seems to be some sort of discrepancy then you need to look at the bigger picture such as cultural issues, welfare babies, drug addiction, etc. This country has bent over backwards for decades to create better opportunities for blacks even though virtually every other ethnic group thrives without that same support. Equality isn’t making special rules to give a certain group more opportunities but that’s exactly what we have and they still b****. Excessive use of force by law enforcement will always be an issue as long as we have humans having to violently apprehend scum on a daily basis. Again, if it looks like a race issue look at the bigger picture....it isn’t.
