RNC sets deadline for North Carolina to allow 'full' convention, amid threat to change locations

The Republican National Committee on Saturday set a tight deadline for North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper to provide guidance on whether the party can host a "full" presidential convention in the state in August as planned, amid threats from President Trump to find a new location if necessary.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and CEO of the 2020 Republican National Convention Marcia Lee Kelly penned a letter to Cooper laying out their plans for holding the event in Charlotte, N.C. -- and seeking a response by Wednesday on whether they can proceed amid coronavirus-related restrictions.

“The RNC has worked tirelessly and in good faith throughout the planning process to make this a successful event for everyone,” they wrote. “That has not changed.”

“We need to know by Wednesday, June 3 if we will be able to do so,” they wrote. “Otherwise, we will immediately need to begin making modifications as to how the Convention will proceed.”

Like your optimism but I don't see a scenario for a Trump win...Dems already signing up extra and putting millions into the Midwest states that Hillary lost..it will be an early call imo before 11pm

How do independent/undecided voters in the Midwest feel about riots and looting? I don't think what we're seeing on television right now is winning Biden any votes, but I could be mistaken.

I don't see a Democratic win at all. I think President Trump will win rather comfortably.

No worries. Joe Biden will save us. He's done nothing for 48 years in DC ...... but he'll fix everything tho.
What a joke Joe Biden is.....he's worse than Hillary & that's a terrible thing to be.
He's not worse than Hillary. That's an exaggeration. And if he's elected, hopefully he continues that track record of doing nothing.

Not surprising that Joe Biden has now made a statement after everyone else has shown him it's ok to do so by criticizing this anarchy. What a tool!
