So wouldn't Johns be the backup to Henderson for a year? That would make sense or would you rather have another player ?

Johnson is a PG, Rivers is a SG, and Hall is a SF.

My thoughts exactly ...plus while Russell can play the pg spot much better off the call and on the wing where she can exploit mismatches

I just edited my response...I would take those three and a wing in this class. I think we can take 6 in that class but I don't think it would be wise to do that. We have had success with transfers so I guess we will get who ever we get...lol...

I believe it's because of the way South Carolina (and others) are recruiting. If we want to compete against SC, Uconn, Stanford, etc. for either the SEC championship or a final four spot, we will have to approach that level of recruitment talent. Key would be a large step in that direction.

Let's think about who that supporting cast was: Bashaara Graves, Jaime Nared, Te'a Cooper, Jordan Reynolds, Alexa Middleton...plus a bunch of other kids ranked in the top 100. That's another 5 All Americans, including an additional 3 consensus top 10 recruits to go with Mercedes and Diamond.

The supporting cast was not the problem. Diamond and Mercedes was not the problem. The problem was that Holly was their coach.

I think Key is coming to Tenn for a reason...she would stretch the family if she attended any other school. They can't watch both of them play at the same time at different schools. I am pretty sure that will be the main factor in her decision. It could happen that Teonni does go to another school but I think it is highly unlikely....

She could...'want' to be here to play with her sister...she could 'want' to be here to make it easier on the family...is there a "want to be here" that you would not accept...lol....

Did you skim the part where I said "how much of advantage is debatable"? Because you seem to have skimmed the part where I said "how much of an advantage is debatable."

Show me a coach who would call getting more in-person time with elite recruits and all the people networked to those recruits as a disadvantage. Or more generically, show me a coach who would call being seen as a coach of Team USA as a disadvantage.

That coaches get great or even top classes without drawing the Team USA nod is completely normal. I didn't say the Team USA gig made recruiting a forgone conclusion. I just said it helps. Because it does. It can also hurt in other ways, to be sure. But on the whole, I would submit that it helps
more than it hurts.

Coaching all those teams gives one clout (even the national senior team) that others do not have or earned. Not saying this is the difference in her recruiting because I don’t think it is. I also am not blind enough to think there is no advantage given here.
