The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Still on the shotgun thing but I have another question.

The Ruger American 45.
Yes or no, and why?

The need is for carry while on the property or a hike. To drop things like the wild boar I encountered. It didn’t come at me but it could have and now I’m thinking the 9mm might not have enough kick.
Glock 20. 10mm

Very popular in Alaska as a carry gun in addition to a rifle/out hiking.

Yep. For factory "heavy duty" use I'd look at Double Tap, Buffalo Bore and Underwood. There may be some others out there now but for heavy 10's those are established brands.
Indeed. You’ll pay for them, but they won’t cheat you out of powder, that’s for sure lol

Well I had traded the FN Five-seveN for the Vector 45 (a win in my book)

Just bought the Ruger 57 (which I wanted anyway, but wasn't paying the outrageous prices)
I've always been curious about that round. I have a single six convertible with the .22 WMR cylinder. I need to buy a box and try it out.

A friend of mine let me shoot his Panzer AR12 today.
If you just thought “his what?” You’re not alone. I’d never heard of one till today and now I want one bad. It’s a gun imported from Turkey. It looks like an AR and shoots 12ga from a 10 round magazine. I have no idea where to get it or how much they cost......yet, bet this thing is a hoot and a half.
Shooting skeet you just keep pulling the trigger if you miss.

They're pretty inexpensive actually.

So I went out of my comfort zone yesterday. I mostly collect Lever actions and bolt actions, I guess I like the look of something older compared to something more modern looking. I asked to hold this puppy and just couldn't turn it away even though its not my style. I shot 3'' slugs in it and it kicks like a mule. It is fun to shot though.

I’ve been considering the escort DF12.
I’m not sure how I feel about the BTS

My friend actually got that one when I got the BTS. I've not shot the DF12, but If i had it to do over I think I would have gone with the DF12. The BTS has a short-ish stock. Me being a smaller framed guy I thought that would be perfect. Unfortunately it makes it a little awkward when shooting. I have to put my cheek so tight on the stock to see down the sights, that my teeth cut the inside of my cheek open after a few shots.

Some of it I'm sure is where i'm not completely used to it yet, and still need to get used to handling it. If I had it to do over I would probably got the DF12 or one of the others I had looked at.

I'm located in Hawkins Co., but I got mine at buds in Sevierville. They only had one BTS and three DF12, they said more was on the way. The guy talked like they was pretty popular. With everything going on, all the gun stores are having trouble getting or keeping anything it seems.
