Mike Leach (Texas Tech)

Yeah, he's getting the leftovers from Texas, Oklahoma, and OSU and is beating them. He might be "strange", but saying he isn't a good coach is rediculous. Again everybody wants Kiffin, and he has alot of unknowns compared to Leach. Why is it that he gets a pass?

I'm with you dude. It baffles me people act like Leach has done nothing in college football until this year. He's set NCAA records all over the place (offensively, because that's his background) everywhere the guy has been. Some of you are sitting here bitching about what part of Texas his recruits come from????? Really??? I mean freaking REALLY?

This guy's a hell of a coach whether he's been at Kentucky, Oklahoma & now Texas Tech.

I'd take Gruden or Davis first....but Leach is a very good #3 candidate.

By some of your logic about not being a good fit I guess we should have gone after Denny Crum instead of Bruce Pearl.

Anything is better than what we have. I am a terrific offensive and defensive coordiantor and coach on playstation Ihave won like 20 straight national titles. so I nominate me:post-4-1090547912:

in 11 season full seasons as a D-I coordinator or head coach has been involved in exactly 0 seasons in which his team lost fewer than 3 games.

He's the flavor of the month. The details of his background make no difference to the masses - his school knocks off the #1 team in the country, scores a lot of points in the process, and, voila, he's the most innovative offensive mind of our generation.

Abe Lincoln lost several elections before winning the Presidency.

Edison had thousands of experimental failures.

Neither of them were trying to convince 18 year old kids to play at Ken-lucky or in Lubbock, TX.

Isn't is easier just to say, "I don't like Mike Leach, and don't want him to be the next head coach at Tennessee."?

That would save everyone some time, yet still allow you to say what you really want to say.

Likely, i'm wrong, but just my opinion.

well the details of fulmers background are outstanding, one of the most successful college coaches ever, a shoe-in for the hall of fame. I will take this flavor of the month for a win over wyoming!

Team's he's coached:

Cal Poly (Assist.)
COD (Assist.)
Pori Bears
Iowa Wesleyan (OC)
Valdosta State (OC)
Kentucky (OC)
Oklahoma (OC)
Texas Tech

It's not like he exactly had a lot to work with....except his single season at OK, which he turned the offense around in one year. That and he is 10-0 and sitting at #2 in the BCS this year....at Texas Tech.

I for one, like to know why people have certain opinions so that I can get a broader sense of the situation. I do my own research to form my own opinions, but part of the process is listening to others thoughts. Everyone should take in the information that's presented, but do with it what they want.
