Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Stop with the fake news. BB has said it's ineffective and he's an expert.
Uh huh.
Apparently some of the ER docs have taken that stance. I'm seeing people sent to the step down units getting sicker till they code and end up in icu. The ones early on who got the combo were vented less days, their inflammatory markers came down quicker and they were discharged. Now we have those untreated being sicker with markers being much higher, and being ventilated when they may have escaped it. SMDH. @BowlBrother85 don't cave to political ********... It works.

This cannot be true. Test refusers will not be allowed to leave home for necessities???

So not only will there be Brown Shirts, but there will also be government officials checking everyday on the infected to make sure they have what they need...

I'll believe that when me **** turns purple and smells of rainbow sherbert.

Also the entire house is locked down if one person sick. No one gets out until all test negative at the same time.

@luthervol you still comfortable with your "greater good"?

This is at least restrictions on the 1a, 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, and 9th.

1a. No right to assemble if locked up.
4th. No search or seizure without warrant. I dont see judges issuing any warrants for house arrest.
5th. Definitely depriving liberty without a conviction. You have to prove your innocence, instead of the government proving your guilt.
6th. No trials provided.
8th. This is definitely cruel and unusual punishment. Especially with no court case.
9th. Pretty much everything is being violated about basic human rights here.

And that isnt even considering in 2A issues that also come up in Washignton.

Another reason why it's very tough to not be able to have family members by your side during these times.
They can legally have a POA come in to see them. I give them our phones to talk to family members or we can use theirs and let them FaceTime. It's worth it so they don't feel so secluded.

That's great to hear. All you hear in reports are of people being isolated

The good news, some local Sheriffs in WA are refusing to enforce some of the governor's orders.

Question for those who want mandatory quarantine:
Wouldn't it be better and more efficient to locate all the folks who test positive to centralized locations? The government officials could closely monitor and provide for the people. Public campgrounds are closed so we could put the groups in camps. That way we concentrate the needy and the assistance for maximum impact. Showers could be provided for hygiene, too. Other ideas have merit but this solution seems final to me.

You are looking at Daily new cases, not percentages. So your case is not accurate, sorry. The more people we test the more test are going to come back positive, Texas increased its testing by 632% in April and that number is continuing to climb in May. This is a common fear tactic used by the media, they tell you new record high daily cases since Texas opened at 1500 but what they don't tell you is Texas did 20000 test yesterday which would put it at the average ( .07% ). Take here in Virginia for example, we are testing 10000 people a day but all the media wants to focus on are the 750 positive test.

We like testing data because it is somewhat more real-time. But, it is incredibly prone to what you're describing. The implication is that cases were even higher back when we were testing lower, assuming that cases are coming down now with social distancing (which might not be true everywhere). So, it's useful to know where we've been vs. where we are so we know what to expect for hospitalizations, deaths, etc. Deaths are a pretty solid measure, but it is a slow data feed. Percent positive of total tests is becoming a better measure I think - but IMO you need to remove all hotspot testing in places that can't participate in community spread (like prisons) when you do that math.
