Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Sorry to go off topic, but how absurd is it that you need a “license” from the state to be a barber.
They used to be low level doctors. Or at least considered as such during Victorian England times and it carried over from there.

Now it's just the general "public health" needs.

Elon Musk is my new hero.

He just told California that he is done with the dumb **** and if he can't open his plant he will take it elsewhere. California caved and let him open.

This is all about money and power, folks. If it was really that big of a health threat to let Tesla open back up they wouldn't have caved. They caved as soon as the threat of losing tax revenue was floated.
Pro sports teams should follow suit

Gretchen Whitmer is a tyrant. Plain and simple. States need to let the next couple of months play out before making drastic economic decisions that will impact the people and the state.

No she is not. You take it back. Come on Joe please pull the trigger and get Frankenberry Whitmer on your ticket.....

These are the 7 states with the most cases of COVID-19 :

1) New York - Governor Andrew Cuomo (Democrat)
2) New Jersey - Governor Phil Murphy (Democrat)
3) Massachusetts - Governor Charlie Baker (Republican)
4) Illinois - Governor J.B. Pritzker (Democrat)
5) California - Governor Gavin Newsom (Democrat)
6) Pennsylvania - Governor Tom Wolf (Democrat)
7) Michigan - Governor Gretchen Whitmer (Democrat)

As you can see, for the most part, the states with the most cases, also have a Governor from the Democratic Party. However, Massachusetts has also not reopened as of yet, and they have a Republican Governor in Charlie Baker. Governor Baker has recently announced that certain businesses can reopen on Monday under their "Phase I" plan. So, it is not strictly down party lines either... as you seem to believe. Indeed, the states with the most cases, are the ones who are slower to reopen, which would make sense to most people.

Why are Dem run states so susceptible to viruses?

At 75-84 you're still at 1 in a 1000. This is insane.

It may be clear to everyone - but wanted to state it just in case it isn't.

With plots like these, they aren't telling you you have an x in y chance of dying.

They tell you you've had a x in y chance of dying over the last 10 weeks (since CV deaths started being officially recorded).

There is a separate chart you could make of probability of death if infected - which to me is more useful if I'm trying to assess my personal risk and make a decision regarding the risk I face if I become infected.

Nobodys thought about it but what's going to happen in 18 days when the lgvtahskdbzuxye community can't have parades?

What makes you think no one has thought about it?

I'm on the steering team for my company's LGBTQ employee resource group and help plan our participation in Pride Parade every year. Currently our parade is delayed to fall. Though I've proposed a food drive for the food bank at a local LGTBQ resource center/shelter (and if we get a lot of participation - then donate a lot of that food to the Greater Houston Food Bank). Idea is we would decorate our cars and "parade" to the food bank to drop off the items. It's a way to celebrate pride but with social distancing.

Seriously?

Are you sure you do? People who live in big cities are more amenable to delayed reopenings.
San Fran County has less than 2,000 cases last I saw but, regardless of that fact, entire states shouldn't be held captive due to a large city in the state having a "high" number of cases. Then you have states like NV with a whopping 6K cases. Why can't they open up? Again, this isn't an economy vs lives discussion, it is lives vs lives. I think you get that but some don't.

And when did Massachusetts become a republican state. Nice try with that liberal Chuck Baker. That's like calling the Maryland governor a republican. LMAO. Democrats you can have both

Please explain what I believe and how I've been had. I'm very interested to hear this

OK, let's start with what government you're angry with. I would assume the US government given the context of the statement. The entire government? It really makes no sense to be angry with "the government", it's a huge organization.

You know, I think that's pretty cool and doing some good for others while you are at it. Good for you.

It makes alot of sense to those who have no problem with the suicide, domestic violence, and those celebrating 14.7% UE

Call me insensitive but there is a local "LGBTQ" food bank?

WTF? Are they prohibited from going to a regular food bank?

So is there an actual lgbtq food bank anywhere in Tennessee? This sounds like the drag queens reading to kids campaign.

I could have worded that better. There is a LGBTQ resource center, shelter, etc. that my company has partnered with a lot - and it has a food bank. If we actually organized a pride-sized food drive, we could drop it off at that food bank...but it would be too much food for them. So, we'd likely partner to ultimately make a large donation from that shelter/resource center to the Greater Houston Food Bank.
