But if it let's us reopen and gives people the illusion of having some control, I'm for it. I think masks are dumb in 90% of cases but I don't think it's a hill worth dying on, especially if it facilitates opening everything back up.

I agree with you to a large extent. A lot of people will be less careful on personal spacing and minimizing potential exposure due to a false sense of security they might get from wearing a mask. But if it helps get things moving again then mask up.
