Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Or I could cower less than you and go to the store without a mask like a normal person.

I couldn’t give one care less if you wear a mask or not, but your crying about CO2 is just about one of the weakest plays at victimhood I’ve ever heard for wearing a mask while in a store. I suspect you think so as well since you dropped that pretty quick. You would have been better off to just say I don’t think it’s necessary so I’m not doing it. Fair enough.

No, it's an activity designed for show only. There is no proven effectiveness in doing it, and recommendations were against it previously. It is also another situation of the cure being worse than the problem. Blood chemistry and weakened immune systems are quite important relative to this virus, so doing an unproven activity for show that creates a problematic area for your immune system is ignorant.

What if it increased your CO2 levels by .418%?

Or increased your chance of dying by .025%?

Would it be worth not wearing a mask at that point?

Well then, I'm convinced! Those nurses and doctors and surgeons and painters and drywallers and constructions crews that work in hospitals and job sites have been killing themselves their whole careers. Who knew? It seems masks are bad for your health at worst, and worthless at best.

I swear, stuff like this is just as dumb as the fear peddlers on here coming in from the other side.

My only point is if wearing a masks opens things up quicker, then I'm on board. If you guys think it is worse for your health to wear a mask, then don't wear one. Same as guys that don't think we should be reopening...stay home. It matters not to me in either case.

It would be interesting to see the % of people that get in that wear a mask. I have to wear a N95 at work because of silica dust so I am used to them. I had to go out Saturday and it looked like about 30% of people were wearing one. Unfortunately they kept adjusting them and pulling them up and down when the entered or left the store. That is a whole lot of face touching.
For the first time on the grocery trip today I think I was in the minority not wearing a mask. I'd guess 70% of the people at Kroger had some kind of mask on.

I was asking a question. Well actually multiple questions.

Not sure why you took my post so negatively. I wear a mask in public btw.

Care to answer my questions about the risks or fo you to stick with your smart arse response?

Darn autocorrect

I don't wear a mask. I have not worn a mask since I used to wear a respirator with charcoal filters, a Tyvek suit, and a face shield when I was spraying greenhouse crops.

Here you go:

Not sure of the point you are trying to make. Simply getting in a car and driving to the store increases my chance of dying in my car. If you are asking me to give you a threshold I won't do it because that is a matter of opinion and subjectivity we will never agree on. Literally everything we do from getting up in the morning to going to bed carries a risk. If the answer is between me getting a haircut or wearing a mask for the 20 minutes I'm in the barber shop....I'm putting on the mask.

Then why the requirements if it's all just a matter of personal choice?

Doesnt sound like you believe we have reached some threshold where it should be enforced.

99.99999% of people don’t but they have bought into the fear you left wing nuts have sold them
I'm 100% certain you haven't got a clue, but what else is new? LOL.......I just listen to the experts, which you aren't one of on any subject. Thanks for continuing to help dumb down our country

I have never said it should be enforced or should be a requirement. Not once.

I've only said if a business is requiring it or it is a condition of reopening, then I don't see an issue with it. In fact, if it is between that or keeping the country shutdown, then I would go as far to say that is an easy decision to make. As far as I know, we aren't there and that hasn't been suggested.

I posed the question of why it really matters anyway and got a silly response about CO2 levels. I don't care what the % are, all I know is people that are really in harms way wear them for their whole careers and wearing it while walking down the aisles in a grocery store shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Most have fully bought into the needless fear. We living among morons
It doesn't bother me that people want to. If it helps keep society a little more sane it's great. But I don't think the people walking around with surgical masks, coffee filters, cloth, or sock masks are protecting themselves very much from the coronavirus. IIRC n95s or better were the only ones that actually trap it due to the virus being small enough to fit through the gaps of cloth, surgical masks, etc.

I think most of them are walking around with a false sense of security.

I have no idea what the actual CO2 levels are that another poster referenced. I was making a tongue in cheek comment based on current Covid numbers as the level of risk. To highlight how ridiculous this has been.

The Trump hat is more essential

Ha! I’d bet you a gold brick the ones where we live that aren’t wearing masks .. wouldn’t wear a Trump hat if it had a Benjamin in the liner . It’s not a Trump supporter thing , people are getting tired of being told what to do . This isn’t Europe or China .. Americans will only do something for so long before they break cover .
