Clawson to UTC?

3 different OC and the offense looks the same as it did for the last 10 years, maybe we should just get a new HC and keep Fulmer on as OC. I dont think so.
I am not a Fulmer apologist by any means but it's clear to see that Clawson is out of his league. He will be a winner in the Austin Peays of the world but he doesnt have a clue in the SEC. Sad to say but Fulmer has forgotten more about running an offense than Dave will ever know.

Spring = Clawson's offense
Fall/Season = Marriage

I think Clawson was better off single.

Think talent pool. Fulmer hasn't ever been REAL good with X's and O's which is why talent got him where he is now. The talent has gotten thinner and he is being exposed for the fraud he was then since Cut isn't here to coach the last decent QB we had on the roster. You keep blaming Clawson when he can only do so much with the talent on offense we have at this time. That's why we can't move the ball very well. Most of the talent we have right now that is going to be decent is young and undeveloped and Fulmer has never been that good with developing talent. Every player that has been worth a crap in the past 10 years have had the raw talent to make up for a coaching problem, now we have average players in a league that will expose that.
I am willing to bet there are 1000's of coordinators out there that could have beaten UCLA, WY, and AU with this years Vols.

Clawson has no business being here, thinking about him ticks me off.

I would like to know of 1 that would work with Fulmer and the ego he drags around on a daily basis. Also, 1000's?? I could probably think of about 5-7 that might have been able to do it, but then they would have to have 100% control and that isn't happening and it won't happen all the way up until the end.

I think Clawson was better off at Richmond.

I point something out that has been reported and stated several times and the best you can come up with is that Clawson was better off at Richmond?? Your one of those people that is in the crowd that wants to hang people at high noon, yet they have no clue on why they are doing it's just the excitement that stirs them.

Give it up...he refuses to listen to reason...

Phil's forgot more about offense....that lines a riot Mike.

Hey, is Patty's still open over your way?

He is the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach. The offense is terrible and the QB's are even worse. Regardless of the circumstances, he's failed.

Thank God Fulmer's not your boss huh?

Here's one for ya.....it's Arian Foster's fault! OOOOOHHHH! Ha! :eek:lol:

You are absolutely outside of your mind. I am not one of those so called fans....I just know that the dude is outmatched, you could see it from day one at UCLA. I honestly have no idea how people can say that the man has shown them anything to think otherwise. I guess you and rockytophigh are the smarter than the rest of the sports media that listen to that say repeatedly the Clawson experiment failed miserably.

I would take every other SEC coordinator in the league over Clawson, hell I wish Randy Sanders was still here compared to Dave. His offense is the most inept I have ever seen.

Fulmer failed before Clawson ever got here. Greg Adkins is a HORRIBLE O-Line coach, Drayton isn't the RB coach that Trooper was when he was here, Scott doesn't seem to be that great of a receivers coach, and Michael is in over his head as a TE coach. Clawson was doomed from the start, and we were blind enough not to notice (even myself). Fulmer was NEVER gonna give up control of his team to an unproven coach and we will never know that if he would have that we might have done somewhat better and Clawson might have saved Fulmer. It's all a moot point here and now.

I saw a man that knew we were in trouble because the QB that had the job gift wrapped to him before Clawson ever got here, really SUCKED at doing what is needed under Center.

I'm certainly not a Fulmer fan, but he did coordinate a few of the UT's best offenses ever. Clawson's one year is arguably UT's worst ever. He failed. Did Fulmer's influence make the situation more difficult for him? Quite possibly. Does that mean he didn't fail? No.

His offense has some good things to it. He might be successful elsewhere. That happens all the time. Just because Clawson was a failure here doesn't mean he's a loser.

Do you blame him for not giving up control to Clawson? Why in the world would you give someone full control, who calls for over 40 passing plays against a pathetic UCLA team that we could have rushed for 300 yards against?

The guy belongs in DII, I say we put him on a rail and send him back.....BTW, he brough Scott with him, would that mean that he is on him?

Another thing, the o-line was fine last year, he came in flipped the tackles and noone bought into his trick pony high school offense. The guy was a bust from day one.

That attitude right there makes me respect your argument more than the other's in this thread.

In all likeliness, though, he won't be proving he can win at a big time school for quite awhile. I think he's going to spend some more time at a Richmond-type school.

And thats where he will be very successful at. There is no shame in it, I have no doubt the man will be lead some potent offenses at the lower level schools. Austin Peay would name their stadium after him. I wish the man luck in the future, but he failed miserably at the big time level.

1. Yes.

2. Because BYU exposed the same weakness we attempted to to the tune of over 50 points.

3. He will be successful in D-1 if he chooses that path. Scott came because Fulmer allowed it, they weren't a package deal it was a professional courtesy that worked out well for recruiting but not so well on the field.

4. Erik Ainge + Quick Throws = An offense that looks much better than it is if we have an incompetent QB in there. Ainge didn't have all day to throw last year either. He wasn't sacked much, but he was pressured quite a bit.
