Tony is so underappreciated by MLB fans.

It might have been Smoltz, but one of the 3 said he just threw it down the middle against Tony because you weren't going to out think him

Maddux used to get to 2 strikes against lefties and he’d throw an absolutely filthy sinker right at their hip and they’d give up and get punched out. He’d throw that pitch to Tony Gwynn and you’d see his eyes light up as he’d identify it and then barrel the bejeeezus out of it into RF.
