The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Yeah, you know me, I'm an old ".45 Dinosaur". You know what I have in my closet, and on my side.

But there's just something about that G45 that says "Come try me and I'll change your mind..."

Must. Not. Give. In.

Do it. You won’t regret it.

I was a big .45 proponent. I have zero now (other than my vector).

I'm somewhat surprised that you found a G45. Maybe duty size weapons are not in as short of supply. The two or three things I've been daydreaming about are out of stock everywhere and people are paying above MSRP on Gunbroker. I'd like to support my LGS but I'm probably on the sidelines until the panic is over.

The place I use has a pretty good supply of everything now. There were slim pickings for awhile.

Good to know. I have to run to Franklin today to check on family. I may stop at the shop in the old Uncle Buds building and see how things look.

They had a lot in Franklin. Some pretty good deals on pre-owned hunting length autoloading shotguns. If I didn't have three already, I would have been tempted. If you're someone who is just trying to arm up and isn't super set on particular brands and models, you could definitely get what you need. Tactical length shotguns were in short very short supply, which stood out to me because one of the few things on my want list is a 590 retrograde, A1 or standard.

I tend to be a single brand shotgun guy. All of mine say 870 or Remington on them somewhere with the exception on the 16 ga bolt action Mossberg that once belonged to my father.

I have an 11-87 and an M11, so I feel you. I actually picked up a police trade-in 11-87 today. I have my heart set on a factory 8 round tube and wooden hardware. Strictly a clear the house out tool that won't scare the neighbors.

And I want a pump so I can load whatever I want.

I have a model 11 (my grandfather’s that he bought new in 1932) a 19 dbl barrel (same grandfather’s) 2 870 express in satin black for house defense. An 870 super magnum (police trade in) I shoot skeet with and hunt with. An 870 express in 20ga that red shoots skeet with. An 1187 that also skeets and hunts.

I am thinking about an over/under at the moment.

It’s possible I have a problem but I choose to see it as more of a solution.

I should have said picked up and put back down. It did not come home with me. It was solid, but I've got that 8-shot retrograde on the brain.
Oh.
I’m sad now lol

I take the change out of my pockets when I get home and put it in a jar every day. (When I have change) when I have enough I get to buy a new (to me) shotgun with it. I added it up last weekend. I’m at 293$ ish.

It won’t be long now.......

Just got me and my wife's new guns. Wanted to share, It's not everyone's cup of tea but we like them.

Mine is a Uberti 1858 New Army Conversion. It's a .45 LC, you can also get the black powder Cylinder for it.
Since I already have a few black powder guns I'll probably stay away from getting one.

My wife seen this and had to have it for no other reason then how it looks.
It does shoot good though.
Its a Traditions Frontier 1873 Single Action Revolver Liberty Model, It also fires .45LC

I have a uberti version of the original peacemaker. Original enough that it has a set screw holding the cylinder in rather than a push pin that came later. I have it in a cowboy rig. Will post pics later.

I'd love one of those New Army Conversions in .45 LC as my backup gun on my cowboy rig.

I am at a loss of why the previous owner placed another sling swivel that far forward. Also, luck being what it is, that screw is stripped out. My guess is the previous owner used shooting sticks quite a bit and would “load the sticks” for stability, so to speak.
