Tennessee football is not UNC football. I doubt a new coach would be allowed to touch the jersey, but he may be allowed an alternate.

At the moment no but Butch will lead us past them but hopefully not wearing shiny pants.

Geez what is the deal with black jerseys? Black has been so OVERDONE it's not funny. Every other team has a black "alternate", so why anyone would want UT to be team #48292 to do this is beyond me.

I don't mind black trim; I've accepted it for the road jerseys, though I still think it's kind of weird looking with the white pants now that the orange stripes are back, and it's a bit weird that the orange jerseys dont' have any black trim at all. Not that I'm sure how they'd do it but anyway....

I've accepted it for the basketball team, and the baseball team. But I think the baseball team went too far with the black jerseys and hats. Making black any kind of primary color in any way would be stupid.

Besides Oklahoma St. already beat us to that. If we do black jerseys we might as well get some of the stupid gimmicky uniforms like Miami and half the NFL has now with the stupid side stripes that go down the jersey and pants and al the stupid lines everywhere.

Real football teams don't fall for uniform gimmicks.

My point is look at programs like Alabama, Penn. St., Ohio St., USC, Texas, Auburn etc. They've had virtually the same look for years now. They don't change based on a new fashion or trends or any crap like that.

I'd like UT to stay that way too.

when we start winning like those schools maybe you might have a point. why you included Auburn in that list is beyond me.

UT should never and I mean NEVER use black jerseys...Ever ever ever...We are the BIG ORANGE!....Not the Big black......

If anyone saw how terrible FSU looked on Saturday night with their little "black" uniform experiment should put this idea to bed. They looked terrible breaking tradition, their uniforms are some of the most recognizable and classic uniforms in sports, just like ours. We aren't Oregon, Cal, Cincinatti, or VA tech; our name and traditional look alone sells itself much better that any of those programs with their terrible flashy uniforms and messing with that wouldn't help anything, it would just make use look foolish.

That wasnt the first time FSU has worn those. They broke them out a year or two ago for the first time against Maryland. They are called their "unconquered" uniforms, and ironically enough they usually tend to be conquered when they are worn(lost vs. Maryland, and lost last Saturday).

The black FSU jerseys are possibly the best looking jerseys in college football IMO. Not saying I don't like the traditional uniforms, and I don't encourage us to wear the black uni's. But, just saying those FSU jerseys were fed.

I think their black uni's are tight.

Any chance with a new coach we can get Nike instead of garbage adidas??? Anyone?

I wish, but there will be too many people complaining about getting away from what we've been doing for the past 50 years
