Trump Admin Blocks Fauci From Testifying Before Congress

I don't think there's any evidence Trump did or didn't trust WHO. What do you think?

He directly repeated the claim from the WHO that there had been no human to human transmission. How has trump failed?

Excellent question. Wouldn't you like to know? I hear Trump wants to block testimony to keep you from knowing. What did you hear? I also hear there are failures from China all the way down to the Governor of Michigan and the foolish people having large gatherings, lack of PPE from our healthcare industry and outsourced manufacturing of PPE to China of all places. I'm sure you are also unaware that Trump was in the middle of a "trade deal" with China at that time as well. He still isn't blaming the Chinese President.

The one thing that sticks out Trump could have done is shutdown travel from Europe earlier. He is the only one that had that power. Maybe it was even suggested by Fauci and the CDC gang.

Good job at not answering my question.

General Flynn and crap like this is why you don’t let him testify. He has more important things to do than play these disingenuous games

Within 24 hours of Spain locking down their country, we initiated a European travel ban.

This left wing revisionist history is insane

How do you consider this not answering your question? It is a direct answer to your question.
"The one thing that sticks out Trump could have done is shutdown travel from Europe earlier. "
It was such a good answer, you were left with that pathetic BS response.

He shutdown travel to Europe within 24 hours of Spain locking down. That seems timely to me. You disagree?

It’s armchair QB stuff at this point. Here’s an article from Vox early on talking about how travel bans were nothing more than political theater...

The evidence on travel bans for diseases like coronavirus is clear: They don’t work

It was all a moving target. Some things we got right. Some things we didn’t.

Yes. He should've done it sooner and not waited for "Spain". You disagree? Wouldn't it be nice to see how the Administration determined to shut down travel from Europe? Did Spain tell him it was a good idea? Maybe it was WHO? But you don't really want to know. You're a mushroom.

Based on what? When you say he should’ve done it sooner, based on what?

Right. Because testifying before Congress is the same thing as a press conference.
There will be plenty of time to assign blame and let both sides throw poop at each other. How about we act with some maturity and wait until after the damn crisis is over. Literally nothing from those hearings will help fix the current problem.

Absolutely, but I don't know what you can point to we got right. Congressional oversight is the armchair QB. We need to see what we got right, wrong, and where to improve. I know you may be used to Benghazi type of oversight, but sometimes there is a legitimate need.

Let’s also add to this that trump shut down air travel from Europe 3 days before Germany (who the media loves to praise) had any travel restrictions. Obviously he shutdown travel from China well before that.

Edit: it was also 2 days before Canada issued a travel ban

Where’s this false narrative coming from that the federal government acted late?

The problem with your statement is that politics has got in the way of oversight. Now oversight is a political witch hunt with made for TV gotcha moments, i.e. it's worthless.

Then why doesn't Pelosi make up the oversight committee with reasonable people?

Maxine Waters? Really?

I think we absolutely should review everything that has happened. But what we shouldn’t do is have it reviewed by a House select committee filled exclusively with members of the opposition party. That’s not oversight. That’s a kangaroo court.

This is likely going to demand a 9/11 or Warren Commission style review.

All because Trump won't let Fauci testify? It shouldn't be a battle from the WH but here we are. It's has you calling it a Kangaroo court even though the Trump administration was holding private coronavirus briefings for Republicans only. BTW The House minority leader has not assigned anyone to the committee. The Republicans have perfected the art of Kangaroo courts.
