Greater than 25% of the deaths in NYC were in nursing homes. Cuomo demanded that nursing homes and rehab centers take on COVID-19 positive patients. He is not directly responsible for all of these old folks dying but he knew the demographics and strategically put the sick with the most at-risk demographic. He is responsible for the outcomes of his policies.

Well what excuse are all of the other states going to use? It's not like Iowa didn't have warning.

Well at least they don't go on the news everyday at 5pm to mug for the camera while spewing the nonsensical ramblings of a homeless man shouting at passing cars while downing Ripple. Or try to imply the stimulus money was a personal gift instead of a return of tax dollars. Or screech that the swing states governed by their political rivals should be liberated from its social distance promoting tyrannical leaders.

Because some of these things could be construed as using the crisis to curry political favor

Where do you all think they send sick patients..... the governor in our state has designated two buildings as covid units..... anyone that tests positive or has to go there from the hospital that has tested positive goes to those two buildings..... they move the long term patients to the other buildings.... it’s a pretty good plan but people still complain about it.
