I asked this before and didnt get a response, maybe one of the medical peeps will answer. But what is the difference between a herd immunity and a vaccine? My understanding is that most vaccines are just manufactured herd immunity.

Are the proposed vaccines doing something different?

It sticks to it. Everyone should probably spray them down with lysol..and I here it gets in your eyes and gets all nasty. Maybe do something similar to protect your eyes? Bleach..stare into the sun..

Especially in Michigan.

We really need to sit down the Dems and explain where the eff food comes from and what it takes to get to the table.

We have seen Abrams, GA governor hopeful, Bloomberg, presidential hopeful, and now this Michigan governor all make very dangerous and impactful comments on the role of farming. Its wide spread enough to have seeped into the collective group think.

Lesson 1 is that food doesnt come from stores.

If I recall correctly, I believe it can help reduce viral load that you intake and evidence thus far suggests severity of COVID is affected by viral load intake

You know that I am not medical...but I read an article that said this virus on an individual basis each secretes a special protein that masks it to our immune systems and keeps them from being targeted as they roam our bodies wrecking healthy cells and reproducing. They were working on a drug that would make our immune systems able to recognize each little virus as a pathogen and attack it. Apparently when our systems can recognize the virus, they do a pretty good job of killing it on their own. Go Vols

Vaccination is actually one way to achieve herd immunity. When you’re vaccinated you receive a less harmless form of the virus that allows your body to build a defense against the virus relatively safely. If enough people in a population are vaccinated and immune to a virus then it protects those who can’t (or in 2020 “choose not to”🙄) get vaccinated by reducing the number of people around them that are susceptible to the virus.

Herd immunity can also be achieved if a virus affects enough people within a community naturally and they build immunity without vaccination. Of course the effectiveness of herd immunity depends on a number of factors. How long are the antibodies that fight off the virus effective? Does the virus mutate frequently? What is the R0 number of the virus (how many people on average can one infected person spread the virus to)?

People who, for one reason or another, can’t receive vaccinations rely on herd immunity with all kinds of infectious diseases.
