i think the single biggest thing hurting us right now is that we can't get kids on campus. that's it. not saying that it would be deal breakers with any/some/all that are on the fence, but it certainly isn't helping that there is no spring, no practices, no spring game, no environment, no nothing..............except face time, zoom and phone/text.

so this year, i think for those schools that got a lot of unofficials last year and early OV's this year, it's made a bit easier for some programs to close deals, especially when there's a huge unknown out there about when recruiting gets back to "normal" and what may or may not happen to help bridge the gap that was created on the recruiting calendar...

i guess if you're a glass half full person, the thing that matters is that no one is signed yet. so if you can get some of these kids on campus, or back on campus between now and then, you at least have to think you have a shot.

but until then....it does kind of suck to watch some of the guys leave the board.......especially guys that you know where relatively high on our board, and at least at some point felt like TN was a pretty good consideration or in a pretty good spot........

oh well....it's only April. :)

I wonder if the NCAA will give kids more OVs this year

nah, i'm just gonna go back on sabbatical...........i'll pop in next month with more wisdome and then pop back out for a bit.

lol.

been busy, work and at home....and there's not been much going on around here that warranted a ton of commentary.....but the recruiting news that has been coming out....it's not been ideal.....but rather than dwell on it....i'm just gonna blame corona, and move on.
:)

I suggest a lot of you guys who are claiming our recruiting is "meh" right now go look at the current 247 and Rivals team rankings. One thing is very obvious. Very few teams currently in the top ten of both sites will be in those positions on signing day. And I would bet you all that out of our current 10 verbals, many of them will be an afterthought later in the year.
Dude...jump off. I have not commented at all on recruiting in months except to be supportive of the staff. I am not worried, we will get good players, and anyway..all I said is it is meh right now. That is true..it is.

Gov Cuomo said this morning as many as 2.7 mil New Yorkers have already had the 'rona based on data gathered so far for antibody testing. Stated 13% already had the antibodies.
Look for the mortality rate to start dropping in a week or two. Get this country back open! And think about all the companies across the country who have continued working full steam ahead and never stopped due to the products they produce from foods to medical equipment etc. In most cases, they are running 3 shifts and have been adding workers to pump out their goods but we have seen or heard very few outbreaks. Let's go!

This is what I have been posting. When all is said and done before this fall that number will be 25+% of the total population everywhere. Sunlight, warmth and humidity slow down the advance anyway - just like the flu. Now is the time to prepare for the fall/winter. Get all of the ventilators, PPE, etc. stockpiled. Watch and learn what happens in the southern hemisphere as they go deeper into their season for it. Get therapeutics ready, keep pushing vaccine testing. More and more people will developing their own immunity through exposure to others.

who knows.

i'm sure just the "unknown" is making it easier for some programs to sell the urgency factor on securing spots.....cause "you don't know if you're gonna get to visit xyz school, but you have been to here, to ABC schools 4 times....so you have a spot, why not secure it and not have to worry about it? especially since we already made your final cut? what really can change between now and then, w/out knowing what might change?"

don't really blame them for pulling the trigger now. throw in that some of these kids are homeschooling or on line classes for HS right now, and there's a lot of question marks about how the rest of their HS career may play out.........................yeah, it makes a lot of sense to get your ducks in a row now, and not have to worry about what "might" happen. at least you know this college thing is set and you can deal with the hear and now......

i mean, if that's the line i'm hearing, it makes a lot of sense......

and of course, there's alwasy those kids at the top of everyone's board, that know they have a spot at several schools if they want it, and can, and will take their time.....

Alright I think it’s time I settle down and pick one NFL team and ride or die. So I need y’all’s help picking one. I’ve always either pulled for Peyton’s team or more recently my fantasy players. The obvious choice would be the Titans but I would like y’all’s opinion. Convince me. My stats:
Born in Knoxville and currently live there.
Went to high school in Alabama and Charlotte.
Went to college in Georgia and lived in ATL for 4 years.
Wife’s entire family is from Chicago.
Favorite colors besides orange are blue and green.

So is the Titans? Falcons? Panthers? Bears? Someone else?
Raiders

SS still believes it is 2%..

Yeah...but I wanna argue with you incessantly about Corona death %..😉

Don't gots it unfortunately

Ouch. Will try to give you a few highlights of what they say this evening.

FWIW Jeremiah mocked the Titans taking Isaiah Wilson of UGA at OT for #29. Casserly and Zierlein have them picking Wilson as well. Schrager has them going CB with Igbinoghene. He's a weird picker. He has Fulton being gone but taking Igbinoghene before Gladney and Diggs. He's also the guy that has Taylor going in the first to the Seahawks that's got Vol fans hyped. I'm taking Gladney, then Fulton, then Diggs in order for the CB at #29. They just gave Kelly a good 3 year deal to be the transition RT. You don't pick a guy who could start as a rookie at #29 after doing that IMO. You pick a development OT in round 3. The holes are on D. You take a CB and a DL to replace Ryan and Casey since there have been no FA's signed of note to replace them at their positions. They signed the former Falcon OT Sambrailo to take Kelly's back-up role at OT.

They'll go after Diggs before Wilson because Diggs had been in the playoffs every year (what Robinson looks for)

I would love a Diggs pick. Over time he may have more upside than Gladney and Fulton. Those guys help quicker, but Diggs' athleticism is special. He just needs more time playing the position.
