Things I'm mad about today

Whaddaya mean you're not a dawg fan? I saw a pic of you right here on VolNation, riding a bike about 6 sizes too big for you and wearing a Georgia fan shirt.
There it is, Joe! Evidence just doesn't get any stronger than that!
And that's why souce will be set on fire!

I'd like to find a nice little lot on an East TN lake just to use for fishing/camping. And maybe build a small structure at some point....

I'm mad at my dad. He's 81 years old and had triple bypass when he was 53. He's had 4 or 5 stents since then. He had a bout with fluid around his heart 2 years ago and the doctor told him he basically has congestive heart failure and that he could live 6 months or 6 years. He gets around amazingly well and other than getting tired more easily it doesn't really affect him that much.

But - it obviously puts him at much greater risk should he contract Covid 19 so I worry about how hard headed he is about going out in public right now. He gets his prescriptions from a Kroger pharmacy that has no drive thru, so he has to go inside. There is another Kroger closer to him that has a drive thru. I've begged him to call and switch his meds to the closer Kroger so he can go thru the drive thru. His answer is always that he's been doing business with these people for years and wouldn't feel right switching now. What? He acts like his regular Kroger is some little local hardware store that he's been doing business with for years and won't switch to Home Depot out of loyalty. I've told him Kroger gives 3 sh*ts which pharmacy he uses, and in fact they'd probably prefer he use a drive thru right now. But he's not having it. I've talked with him about getting them mailed to him but he says he just doesn't like change. What a maroon

And let me fish!!
I'd let you fish from the bank just so I could sneak up behind you and kick you into the lake!

He's 81 and he's happy. I think he's earned the right to live life on his terms. He knows the risks and chooses to accept them. Enjoy the time you have with him now, and appreciate every moment, otherwise, you're the maroon.

Not trying to pile on here, but truer words cant be spoken. You may spend the day with you dad doing whatever you or he want to, or are capable of doing and that be the last time. Trust me it can happen. Cherish this time you still have.

Trust me, I cherish the time. My wife of 39 years lost her dad to a heart attack when he was 59. You never know when that time comes. My mom is in a nursing home and none of us has been able to visit for about 5 weeks now. We are all anxious about that also. I just hate to see him end up catching this virus over something as silly as being loyal to a certain Kroger and not getting to see his wife again and her not getting to see him again.

Nothing wrong with worrying about him, IMO. We all have different relationships with our father's. Maybe he enjoys you "fussing" at him about this just for the extra attention. Who knows. I know people that haven't talked to their fathers in years, so at least you're talking to yours.

Best wishes.
