that was the dumbest take I’ve ever seen. If he would’ve said like Kwahi Leonard i would’ve at least heard the argument but Beverly is a scrub lol. Then it goes the other way with yuckleheads like Ubben tweeting that after one game being defended by Pat Beverley, that Pete Maravich would have quit basketball...and every other ridiculous Hank Take. Fans watching basketball since 2000 refuse to believe that it existed beforehand. Phenomenal athletes with proclivity for basketball greatness date back to the creation of the game. There’s been nobody in a superior stratus than Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson, Bill Russell and Elgin Baylor amongst others. Most likely others never even attempted basketball and the AAU type programs and modern 24/7/365 focus on development of skills would have netted more than a significant number from the smaller world population. Maybe it’s a failed attempt at humor, but it doesn’t win you any arguments when you emphatically state otherwise. I personally don’t dig what I view as a glorified 3 point fest which is the present game, but I stand in awe of a Devin Booker or a Luka Doncic when they ply their craft. And I have hope when an 80’s type center Nikola Jocik shows that position isn’t completely dead. Not speaking for anybody else when I place my vote for Michael Jordan over Lebron...just don’t want another generation speaking for me.
That’s the thing. How do you prevent the “hurtin other people part”? Hasn’t been perfected for alcohol and cigarettes have enforced no smoking areas but you can’t prevent it at home. You never hear the term “she just had a little too much meth.” because there’s not a safe amount you can hit and then go to the store. Meth is just the worst possible example to plead for recreational use and there are multiple others equally ridiculous. One solution doesn’t fit all. Wanna preach legal marijuana? Practically already here. Cocaine? I’d say no because “coked out gunman” is in our lexicon...but I’d entertain the argument. Just nothing works when you say EVERYTHING.Where did I say no difference? I didn’t. They’re both bad for you. But most things are fine in moderation. Meth isn’t one of those but I don’t think we should tell adults what they can and can’t put into their own bodies. If they want to do drugs, fine with me as long as they don’t hurt other people. If they do there are consequences. Not sure why that’s so hard to understand for some. “Taking care” of humans cradle to grave isn’t doing them any favors. Educate, listen, learn and make good choices.
So I’ve accepted a position working in media for basketball and football recruiting coverage.
Not going to plug it here, don’t want to rub Freak the wrong way, but I’m wondering what you guys value most in recruiting coverage: interviews with prospects, film breakdown, insider rumors, or something else?
Because of the swath of 7 footers today sitting on the bench while 6’9 stretch fives are in during crunch time? For the record my top 5 is:
Lebron
Jordan
Shaq
Kobe
Bird
*** i don’t really know how to rank wilt and Kareem. Obviously they were amazing but some of their stat lines are so ridiculous it makes me question if they were just so much taller and more athletic than their competitors.
Fair point. Okay fine, no meth. That’s the thing. How do you prevent the “hurtin other people part”? We have Soldiers during WWII meth.Let me ask you a question. If meth were legal would you do it? Exactly. That’s the point. Doesn’t matter if it’s legal or not. Some people are going to do drugs, drink alcohol, drink 15 sugar filled sodas a day, or shoot heroin whether it’s legal or not. And others won’t. Can’t stop supply and demand.

Other than the sill top 2 you have, which is completely foolish by I digress... I don't think big men should be in the discussion on a list of greatest of all time. Big men are specialists. I compare them to pitchers in baseball. When you talk about who the greatest baseball player ever, no one should say Nolan Ryan. Nolan Ryan might be the greatest pitcher ever, but he isn't the greatest baseball player ever. He's a specialist. For the record my top 5 is:
