if you take this whole thing serious From the start and do the whole social distance and work from home when applicable then it never gets there. That’s the problem. To me their trying to water down The death rate in order to make up for their lack of preparation

No sir. The fact is the experts are only experts if they fit an agenda. They are doing their job and finding out things they didn’t know and getting a real picture. So, they are now trying to make it seem different because it isn’t bad and that doesn’t support things the way you want it. Come on man.

You work for the Jets in your little world. You don’t get it.
That is exactly what I thought.

Try being the owner of a Salon or Barber shop...or hundreds of thousands of already struggling small business owners before yapping.

For example..my cousin in Lakeworth Texas that has owned her restaurant since the mid 80s doesn't know how she is going to survive if this goes more than another few weeks...the takeout business ain't cutting it.

I do believe that this thing is brutal on densely packed urban areas...it is nuts how so many of the confirmed cases in Kentucky are in three or four counties.

We are delaying the inevitable...and you know it.

We can not keep the world shut down like this till a vaccine is available...and you know that too..because you are a smart logical numbers guy.

Yes, we are delaying it. That's the whole point. If we can prove some form of viable treatment, we can just let it run. Until then, we really have to try to balance some form of mitigation with getting the population to immunity.

This is killing the business I've spent 28 years building. It is literally my life's work. I want to open us open, but if we screw it up, it may be worse in the long run.

No vaccine is coming...and at this point no miracle treatment is happening. We have to open it up.

Friends who owned restaurants that have been featured as some of the best in states are about to go under and he will lose everything and his kid is at same school as mine as is my sons good friend who we take to Vols games and he’s now all orange but his mom is struggling. Single mom who has built her own business as a hair stylist and owns a small home and made it even after husband left them. American success story whose about to lose things if we don’t get back. Those people don’t think it’s all ok.

It matters because we could’ve tried other methods that didn’t cost 22 million jobs. Isolate the most vulnerable, everyone else works. If this thing is really nothing more than a flu as far as death rate is concerned, then we greatly overreacted
thats my point though. You can’t play to the result on this Bc measures were taken to contain it and also the risk would be huge. Even if the odds are 90% no big deal and 10% really bad if you do nothing. What if it’s a new small pox or polio? It’s nothing more than better safe than sorry to me.

And the idiots just keep beating that fear drum..

Hang in there. Opened mine 13 years ago.

To YOU...I do agree that extreme mitigation had to happen, but it can NOT go on for much longer.

This really really breaks my heart...

Why would i want it that way? People are dying of this virus of all ages & backgrounds. Do you have an arbitrary number of deaths before it’s “bad”? As if 37,000 ppl dying isn’t quite enough to call for help.

These guys that don't get how bad it can get should watch a few documentaries on the Great Depression...I would rather die than see my children and grandchildren go through that hell.

Of all ages? Did you see those numbers from Colorado I posted earlier?

Do you know how many people die in automobile accidents, and alchohol related deaths every year? Are you for banning driving and prohibition?

Would you trade never having a work stoppage or negative economic impacts for say 1/4 of your friends/family getting the virus? That will answer if risk is worth it.

well “young and healthy” is very subjective and really going to differ on who declares what healthy.

But none the less, you let all the young and healthy people go out then they bring it back to the others that aren’t so capable of beating it. Or what happens if you kept schools and daycares open, we all know how quickly sicknesses spread through them.

It doesn’t surprise me coming from clay Travis But i genuinely don’t get the whole fiscal freak out people. Is a few paychecks or even your current house, job, car etc more important than your health and your friends/family.
We’re doing that anyway by keeping groceries and other “essential businesses” open. This thing is still spreading albeit slower. Clay is an annoying douche. I’ve thought this was bs from the beginning and been terribly mismanaged. Some people don’t have a single paycheck to spare much less a few.

Quarantine at risks groups. Everyone else is fine relatively speaking. We could freak out like this over the flu every year too but we don’t. Just find the whole thing to be intolerably stupid from the way the gov has responded to the way the media is fear mongering to the way people are acting like they have autism and scurrying around like scared animals. Just all sad to see and I think there’s gonna be some serious long term negative impacts that were completely avoidable

In case you didn't know Hank 38,800 died in car crashes last year..and that happens every year after year after year..

And 88,000 for alcohol...which is absolutely totally needless...People have to drive in this world, but nobody has to drink alcohol...where is your righteous indignation at that?

I feel like if we would’ve done this 2 months ago and just nipped it in the bud for 2 weeks, never gets out of hand.
Yeah it was either do this or do nothing. What we’re doing now is essentially pointless because all you’re doing is slowing it down but I’m even a bit skeptical of how much it’s slowing it down. I think it’s already passed through a lot of people and they didn’t notice. China knew about this in November so it’s been spreading for a long time.

More suicides than that yearly. 7500-8000 die every day in the US from something. No Covid? Would be great. But if we wipe it out, it won’t wipe out dying. 37,000 is less than a typical week here in merica.
