GOATS don't flop all the time and they don't get their coach fired when they don't get their way![]()
It's still one of my favorite games because we took it from them in Tuscaloosa.I member that ‘03 Bama game like it was last year. Had my 8-hour long fundamentals of engineering exam that day and felt terrible about it when I left. I was in a bad mood, but I expected to turn on the radio in the car and find my boys comfortably in the lead at the half to cheer me up.
Nope.
Had a cookout and bonfire that night too. We spent it all in great consternation until we finally won. A win, but it felt like a loss because we should’ve won it handily.
Ahhh, I still remember my first game, on the radio as a nine year old. Me, getting to sit in the front of Dad’s Plymouth, and driving me and my siblings through the Smokies (which he did every year in the fall). Dad tuning the radio to the game as he drove. Battle was the coach at the time. I idolized my dad and everytime he got excited about the game, I did also (even if I didn’t understand why at the time) John Ward made the game seemed like you were watching it alive.I loved watching the game on the radio with John Ward
