Would this work for an SEC season only?

This morning on the Today Show, some Doctor/Epidemiologist said there would be no fall sports. I am not sure how much I believe this but I could very well see no college football. Pro football is another story. All of those owners are billionaires and will never let a year worth of revenue get away. The NFL owners have far too much pull in the government circles to let a year go by without NFL football.
Yes. And every NFL game is on TV so they’ll still get that revenue. I could see NFL games with no fans. Not college though.

The schools, while the government does provide financial assistance I don't believe that will be enough to offset the cost of losing a Football season. Do you really think Women's Soccer could make it at a place like Alabama if it weren't for the Football Program?

How does that make Title IX "go away"?

Both will get canned, if there is no Football season I think most schools will do some serious trimming.

But you suggested some schools might go down to just football and basketball. Assuming you mean both men's and women's basketball, where are the schools going to make up 85 women's athletic schollies to bridge the gap with football?

How can they support those programs with no football revenue?

Correct however if there is no football this year how can they fund those programs for this season?

If they don't play footbally at all in 20-21, then I can't imagine they'll play any other sports for the same reason. They won't shutter football for safety reasons and yet try to play softball or gymnastics.

Right however that school will barely have the revenue to get football up and going when it returns how can they get women's soccer, rowing, women's basketball going? All sports that don't produce a profit that start in the fall

It doesn't really take much revenue to restart a sport, even after unexpected time off. It's not like you suddenly have to build all new facilities.

Previous 2020 schedule canceled.
New schedule has 13 week conference round robin.
All teams are housed in different hotels in Atlanta.
When classes resume, all are done online with tutoring available.
August is practice month for all 14 teams.
13 game season goes from Sept - November. No bye weeks.
No fans.
Teams, officials, and TV network crews only at games.
Games are played at all available high school/college stadiums in Atlanta.
All games televised in newly negotiated financial package of ABC/Disney/ESPN networks.
All games played on Saturdays only with noon/4pm/8pm eastern starts.
All teams are tested weekly for Coronavirus. A positive test sends that player home until re-testing negative.
Why a round robin & why in Atlanta?

My thinking (and I'm NOT any kind of infectious disease expert or sports management expert or anything like that) is that there is a shortened schedule in 2020 that starts later. Perhaps trimmed down to an 8 or 9 game schedule to preserve all the power 5 conference games. Then elimination of some of the bowl games (not sure sponsors are going to pony up the cash this year anyhow) and compress the CFP a week or two to wrap up in early February.

This would allow an adjustment in Spring 2021 camp to start a few weeks later and possibly start the 2021 campaign a week or two delayed.

Chris Fowler through out the idea of starting the season in February. I could see this as a possibility (though this would be middle of flu season). Similar to the XFL this pst year.

I just don’t see having sports with no fans.
Imagine -- who will sit outside in Michigan Stadium or even Missouri in Feb ? Not many imo

There is a supposed proposal that is actually floating around for them power 5 to have a conference only schedule. One reason is that the conference would have complete control over scheduling

Exactly my point. Each conference handles all decisions from one centralized location.
