Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2025-26

"This is the Non-Lady Vol thread so we can discuss other teams besides the Lady Vols."

Well, sure. But if you look at the thread below, CLEARLY a thread for LADY VOL RECRUITING, the same photo that NeedOrange posts over and over again appears there. I am so sick of it.

2021 Lady Vol Recruiting Thread
Wasn't referring to that. All non Lady Vol discussions need to stay in the non Lady Vol thread. Where did I say otherwise?

You absolutely correct is saying we don't have to have one, but we choose to have one so what is your point? I've been on this forum for 12 years and I don't need you to tell me how to act. You are a guest as well so act like it. If freak wants to boot me that's fine. If you want to belittle posters and discussions of other teams, well you need to learn to deal with it because it's going to happen. Just know how that your actions reflect on the fan base as a whole and particularly on the Lady Vol fan base.

@Lucy ... I want you here, love having you here...If you are a reflection of the fanbase, I am fine with having you as my representative

I stand by my original post. I also doubt there are very many Lady Vol fans who would think I reflect poorly on the overall fan base by saying if UConn fans can’t treat this Lady Vol forum with respect they should leave. I would expect UConn fans to feel the same way about Lady Vol fans going on the Boneyard and acting like jerks. We have plenty of fans from other schools on here that are great. They share interesting things going on at their school or just WNCAA in general. But like everything a few ruin it for all. Ask yourself how many times does the photo of the recruits at a UConn game really need to be posted? I think we got the message the first time.

Prayers for Aquira DeCosta and her family as she recovers from suicide attempt 🙏🙏🙏

For instance here is a poster from another school we all respect.
Thanks for letting is know BUB. This is such a heartbreaking problem for so many young people.

I agree other fans should be respectful. Where did I say differently? We have a non Lady Vol thread and that is where the discussion on other teams should remain. If you want to criticize those discussions in the Lady Vol threads, I am right there beside you. We are in the non Lady Vol thread, so I stand by what I said concerning that. I just think when in this thread, we should be respectful as long as they are. That's all I'm saying and our hospitality or lack thereof reflects on us all whether we like it or not.

She gets to the line only problem is that she only makes 62 percent. Plenty of game where she was in double digits free throw attempts.
I don't understand why some players don't work on this part of their game. It's about repetition and muscle memory and it is so critical late in games. Not as critical as the old one and one days but still critical.

It was a huge problem with the Lady Vols last season as a team .654 so you can see we need to get that up to around 72 at least which would mean 7 more points per game. You get better there and eliminate about 8 turnovers a game your competing for the top three in the SEC.

Its about more than that.
In my teaching of this part of the game, I find that focal point is what is often missing.
They need more than just mechanics here, the need a way of tunnelling in on a focus that eliminates the other distractions

reps and mm are indeed important, if you want to shoot with your eyes closed and test your muscle memory with no other distractions, but, blocking out crowds, pressure of the moment, and "focal point for the shot" are all equal factors

We do not have to have a non-Lady Vol thread. This is a courtesy. You are on a Lady Vol forum so I don’t think you have any standing to welcome anyone here. You are a guest. You should act like one.

As the creator of this thread I find this statement confusing. This thread was created with the intention of discussing other teams. Primarily how they might relate to the Lady Vols in the bigger picture. Now that UCONN is back on the schedule I think it’s fair for discussion.

I do think UCONN fans are taking too much liberty on other threads in the forum. There is a place and time. The recruiting threads aren’t it. And the time is not now.

I am a Lady Vol fan through and through and I didn’t post in those threads for YEARS. Mainly out of respect for those who actually closely follow, and have accurate information. Now it has become a garbled up mess. There is little real information there anymore. Many of the insider posters have really limited their offerings it seems.

I created this thread after thanking the creator of the previous one. It provides a great place for women’s basketball fans to commune. We still have a fabulous and well educated fanbase. Even for all our struggles the last few seasons! I am loyal because of Pat. Always will be. I believe she championed the game as a whole, not just the Lady Vols. I love interacting with respectful posters from other teams. It’s meant to add, not to take away from this forum.

Thanks for creating it. I do generally like it and find it interesting. Recently, however, it seems that some posters from other schools think they can take over a thread and poke at the Lady Vols. IMO going beyond just talking about what is going on with their schools and WBB in general. I certainly don’t know what you envisioned. Perhaps you are okay with that. I am more than a little sick of UConn fans boasting about their recruiting and how maybe the Lady Vols can pick up the scraps when the end of their bench transfers. I will say I can not keep track of where all this is going on. Some of this is happening on the recruiting threads as well. As I said above a few can sometimes ruin it for everyone. Certainly no criticism of the thread in theory.

Looks to me it was one poster.

I’ve worked really hard to respect this forum and Tennessee fans, although I have had some fun with Coach Jumper.

Thanks for letting me participate

Jaden Owens (5-8 FR point guard, Plano, TX) is in the transfer portal out of UCLA WBB; as a top-15 ranked player in the 2019 class, she chose UCLA over Baylor, Louisville, Mississippi State, Ohio State, and Texas

I wonder how long Fudd will wait to announce. She knows Maryland and UConn very well. Someone else mentioned Notre Dame was in the mix.

If she picks UConn, how are all these recruits going to be satisfied with playing time?

Of course the potential of multiple NCAA championships will help.

They won't. It will be like Walker's class where everyone transferred when they realized that they weren't cracking the rotation for major minutes. I can't see Fudd being concerned if she picks UConn; it's the other players that they've signed in her class that will probably be in the transfer portal in short time.

That is a fair question.

I’ve seen UConn fans on the Boneyard talk about how Auriemma shared time on the early 2000 teams when they had a 10 player rotation. But there certainly might be some player movement. No team is immune to the transfer portal especially if they change the rules to where you don’t have to sit out a year.
