Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

The WHO responded with "These French nurses should be arrested and punished for their ungratefulness towards the benevolent, mercifully, and great chinese government!!!"

Who was he going to order them from, China?
He needs to answer that question. Where were we going to get the equipment when there are reports that Chinese expats in places lie Canada and Australia were hoarding medical supplies and sending them to China.

Just one example...

The ban comes after Chinese-backed company Greenland Australia came under fire for shipping hordes of supplies from Sydney to Shanghai, including 10,000 masks, 30,000 protective gowns and 68,000 disposable gloves, the outlet reported.

The controversy over churches this weekend is interesting:

-- Kentucky is going to monitor churches and police will make lists of people by license plate who attend, requiring them to then quarantine for 14 days;

-- In Florida some localities required that churches be closed to live gatherings. The Governor used a statewide proclamation for stay at home to allow it, causing a lot of problems and tension between the Republican Governor and Dem local officials.

Just a couple of examples.

I have to say, as a member of a Presbyterian church that just live streamed a service last night and did it well, I am very suspicious of churches that want to stay open for in person services. It has a definite feel of the larger, Republican-associated mega churches that specialize in making lots of money using their political influence to keep the cash machine in operation.

What is happening to my state? Tennessee will be purple in 5 years if this keeps up. Nashville and Memphis are already solid blue. Chattanooga and Knoxville quickly catching up.

Something I have thought about but luckily statewide elections have not showed this. Hope it continues this way

How about fk no! That ratio at the bottom is glorious.

Mixed feelings on this. On the one hand, if Iran needs help from the IMF, why does the US have to block it? If the US is going to be outraged about who gets IMF money, maybe we should not support the IMF anymore.

On the other hand, why do we have an American politician lobbying for another country? It is just weird that we have politicians in America trying to serve the interests of another country. And to do it now? Don't we have more to be worried about here at home with our own mess than to be worried about somebody else? Why can't we just mind our own damned business?

Do you have an issue with the 1st Amendment and people being free to gather? Or practicing religion as they choose?

Raise your hand if you trust Iran to distribute those funds appropriately?
