Well, the CIA made many mistakes when it came to killing Kennedy, they are innumerable and Kennedy also made mistakes not having the knowledge of the power of the institution he was trying to hamstring and bring to heel. It cost him his life.
The book I mentioned earlier he alludes several times to Kennedy, his attempts to suppress the power of the CIA, the private mood of Kennedy on the CIA vs some of his public statements. I think he adequately described what was happening.
