They didn’t “bubba proof” them or “Phil proof them”. They Tiger proofed them. And he dominated anywayIt is clearly debatable, and the fact you keep relying on the argument of "tiger proofing" golf courses doesn't help your case. I can assure you... ball technology, shaft technology, club head COR, etc. are major factors. In comparison, if MLB had not enforced the rule for wood only bats the vast majority of stadiums would have had to be enlarged to make them "homerun" proof.
They also "Jack proofed" them. The bunkers added to 18 at The Masters were because of Nicklaus, and many of the 7,000+ yard courses built in the 60's and 70's were because of Nicklaus. He just didn't have a marketing machine behind him to help popularize a phrase. They didn’t “bubba proof” them or “Phil proof them”. They Tiger proofed them. And he dominated anyway

Trask was quite good last season and those WRs have tons of speed. Their OL has exceeded expectations under Mullen so far. UF defense gonna be a UF defense.
They have skill where it matters and are very well coached and schemed. I definitely had confidence vs them during the Champ, and moreso the ButterTeeth, years, due to theit own shortcomings. But nothing so far gives me confidence against their current staff. Not saying Pruitt can't take us higher, but I don't see UF just having a total dud team like Champ/BT had at least once...not that it helped with Dooley/Butch.
I will say, IF they roll out a dud team one year, Pruitt will pounce on them and not waste the opportunity like 2011, 2013, 2017.
Was an OPINION also. “Credence” is up to the believer. Had perfectly reasonable, lucid sports fans explain to me how Bill Russell was the GOAT...same for Oscar Robertson. You get the Bird, Magic, Wilt, Shaq et al angles all covered and it adds up. Would never drop Lebron that low personally but this isn’t really science.Well, he did say Lebron was maybe the 15th best bball player of all-time. He lost all credence on non-football sports debates there.
Anyone can show out when they don’t have much game film on them which is why I hold judgment when it comes to first year highly regarded pitchers entering the majors usually year two is when you know how good they are and in this case, this will be Trask true test of judgment.i expect a drop off.year one is usually fools gold.
I see the analogy, but I don't really agree it is very comparable. Played a lot of baseball growing up and, yes, seeing pitchers over and over you can learn tendencies (though they learn yours too). But college QBs typically improve over time and with experience. They have tendencies too and you can scout them, but your options are limited. They are throwing to (supposedly) open receivers, not trying to throw it past you.Anyone can show out when they don’t have much game film on them which is why I hold judgment when it comes to first year highly regarded pitchers entering the majors usually year two is when you know how good they are and in this case, this will be Trask true test of judgment.i expect a drop off.year one is usually fools gold.
I'll give you and all the rest the story re: the package. At the time cadets had to register/re-enroll or whatever way they did it and send in tuition, donations, etc, supposedly the Allman bros hated going there sooooo much that they placed human feces in the return package to CHMA with a go to he&% note. I have heard this for years from different people and CHMA alums as well. I could see them doing that as young rebellious teenagers. The Allman brothers were gone before I got there. I believe they were there one year in the mid-60's, I got there in fall of '68. There really wasn't much talk about them except when the first one died. So don't know anything about a package.
Going there was a strong formative experience for me especially since my father had died the year before. I was at a reunion a few years back when an alum returned. He was originally from Central America and was recruited into the CIA after graduation. They later installed him as the Manager of the Havana Hiton shortly before Castro took over (they apparently had figured out what was going to happen) and he was subsequently arrested and imprisioned for over 20 years in horrific circumstances. He was eventually repatriated to the US. His best friend from Heights had also been in CIA and they reestablished their friendship. After 10 years of freedom he found out he had terminal cancer and his friend asked him if there was anything he could do and this man who gave so much to his adopted country said he just wanted to see Castle Height one more time, so they came to the annual homecoming we have every year on the old campus. After the friend told us that story, Manny stands up, clearly in pain and says "Everything I am, everything I have been and everything I ever will be I owe to Castle Heights." A lot of grown men were crying like babies.
We have had numerous teams that were only marginally less talented than UF over the past 10 years, but it's mostly mental at this point. Their players come into the game knowing they're going to win. Dramatically changes how you play the game.
Also, Tiger is the goat -- come on. Yes, Nicklaus didn't have the equipment, but the field was much easier back then, too. I'd love to see Ovechkin barreling over nerds in Gretzky's era. Equipment helps, but the game is much more advanced today as well.
