This post is the greatest example of non liberal White privilege I have ever seen. I approve.
We have to re open and quickly. The economic and people’s mental health detestation will be far worse than the virus and we will feel the effects much longerI think the issue is that we really didn’t have a true comparative society to ours to get accurate data from. China would’ve been good to get data from but I think they have proven that data from a communist regime is not reliable. You could get data from Spain/Italy but their demographics and infrastructures are disproportionate to ours.
Essentially the models are being developed as they go and you are seeing the results of that as they are changing daily. To Be Honest we may never fully understand the true impact of this virus on the US society due to the fact that we locked everything down so quickly. Really the only way to find out will be to selectively reopen things back up and study the impacts.
I do. Not everyone qualifies for the stimulus. Single filer making less than 99k and combined filing of less than 198 K irrc. I am not exactly sure how US GOVT came up with that but I guess they have their reasons. Problem is many Americans live paycheck to paycheck unfortunately or have next to nothing to fall back on during a time of hardship. I am not scrooge McDuck but have always tried to keep additional funds in savings to maintain our home if loss of income occurred. Luckily, I did not lose my job and remain thankful.I don't believe they post. It was your hypothetical I just figured you had an opinion. My bad
Its not sarcastic. The idea that parents of all races and groups in the USA teach their kids to save money is ridiculous. Same goes for different cultures and the emphasis they put on education, or marriage, or religion, etc. Sociology 101. I'm not saying its NOT a good idea, it just isn't as common as many might think. You know the old saying "if common sense was lard most people wouldn't be able to grease the pan". That is truth. I just like to shorten it and say "most people are stupid".I can’t tell if the white privilege portion of this is being sarcastic or not. In the case that it is common sense is not privileged to only white folks.
Everyone has the ability save it all depends on what you are able to sacrifice to do so. Several either don’t want to make the sacrifice or are too undisciplined to do so.
Government actions materially damaged the individuals that work for those companies. Yet, the only ones that we bail out are the billionaires and big wigs?
Their income numbers are odd. I make around $150K a year as a single dude living in Georgia. I have a mortgage, no other debt. I am swimming in cash. Move me from Peachtree City to San Francisco and I'm sharing an econoline van with 8 roomates on my same salary..I do. Not everyone qualifies for the stimulus. That's true. I'm sure immunocompromised children will not be kept out of school.
You still didn't answer the question you raised and kinda contradicted yourself. If individuals are taught that skill yet can't seem to do it why do you believe a corp would? Why hold them to a higher standard than the individual?I do. Not everyone qualifies for the stimulus. Single filer making less than 99k and combined filing of less than 198 K irrc. I don't disagree with you, but are these adults you're talking about the same ones that bought all the TP, wear scuba suits and equipment to Publix, drink fish tank cleaner to cure a virus, think the world is flat, were born Bruce and now are Catlyn, collect EBT benefits and buy lobster or sell the benefits for half the worth so they can buy cigarettes/booze/drugs.....the list goes on?This. That we refuse to expect adults to be able to manage their way thru this, is insane.

I can only assume that many of the out of touch progressive members of congress feel that $70k is rich.

What about the government tracking everyone? Don't they know more about where everyone is going and what they are doing? Lol, again, I agree with you on a lot of this, but I'm amazed that you act like you just woke up from a 30 year nap and like "WTF?"
