Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

A lot of govenors are thinking about a lot of stuff. Seems to me it isn't news until it is news.

This still falls under the "So What" category.

It is good to see the idea floating. We've been in a month long contest to see who could out do the next guy in terms of restrictions. Even most leaders are just followers, so I am happy to see the conversations start.

Nobody has the guts to make the first move. It will have to come from a governor that isn't eligible for reelection and has no aspiration for higher office.

Those numbers are so flawed they don’t mean anything.

Side note: if I hear the words “social distancing” or “we are in this together” or instructions on how to wash my damn hands, one more time I may go postal
I learned early on that, if while washing your hands, you sing the happy birthday song twice in your head while washing you will have done the proper amount. Make sure you dry your hands thoroughly with a clean towel.

As far as maintaining social distancing, it is important so that we may flatten the curve. It's up to us, each and everyone, to do what we can because remember, we are all in this together.

My apologies, just couldn't resist, send video of your "going postal."

Great. Children can become the middle man in this. They can take it home to their parents and grandparents. While it doesn't affect most children severely they do catch it and spread it.
Is knee jerk the only reaction allowed now? If everyone can quarantine, why can't only those at most risk do it even if others go on about their lives?

Which is why you allow them to help with herd immunity while protecting the most vulnerable. Closing everything is ridiculous and will only lead to a relapse instead of eradication

As someone who hires, would you wager that youd be able to pay less in four months due to a flood of applicants than now or would the pay be the same?

Pay will be the same because I don't see the feds doing away with that extra $600 until after the elections at the earliest.

I disagree with that solely because restaurants and alot of the industry will need those employees back. I dont think theyll want to incentivize not getting back to work. I do understand your point though.

You're probably right, that scenario might present itself.

That said, we'd probably pay the same. It is a lower level position, but very important to the success of the company. Perhaps keeping our salary the same just means we get a more qualified(maybe over qualified)pool of candidates for that same salary, in 4 months.

No way either party takes that $600 away a few months before the election.
