My father did business all over the state for 30 years. He always said Knoxville/East TN was at least twenty years behind the rest of the state from a business and social perspective. I spent three years going to Knoxville for SunTrust and our employees up there were dumb as dirt. That place was an HR nightmare. No one in Nashville, Atlanta or Orlando was sad to see us close the Knoxville bank operation center.

Tell us how you really feel. With that attitude I'm sure the feeling was mutual.

How about it didn't make the news in Florida? Also, it might be because he didn't use a gun and mass stabbings are pretty uncommon in the US. Just spit balling, though.

What did I stereotype? That Knoxville is behind bigger cities? That we had dumb managers and HR problems in Knoxville? Try all you like to be butthurt but these things are/were true. East TN is not the most cosmopolitan part of the state.

I know very few people from middle Tn, but I really feel that some of the most decent, honest, caring people that I have ever come across are in East Tn, Western N.C., and SW Va. I have lived in 8 different cities or towns, and have seen most of the country.
