Maters so big you gotta lift them with a forklift.Gave them a little drink this morning. But only well water. A few weeks from now and they should be poking out the top of those 6’ cages.View attachment 270746
That's a sweet deal right there. Last year, I used my raised beds for sage, oregano, and squash.Gave them a little drink this morning. But only well water. A few weeks from now and they should be poking out the top of those 6’ cages.View attachment 270746
I remember coming home from college with my roommate. We would go rabbit or squirrel hunting and stick some of the my mother's previous night's baked potatoes and a canteen in our coat pockets to keep us going.Add some bacon... We're good!! I used to take 2 mater sammiches and a canteen of water when I'd go hiking as a teen. Loved them.
This is at my work place. Which we moved our business to in 2013. I used to garden at my home but now I try to do a bit here at work. Before I had that big 9’ cage built 3-4 years ago, the deer would eat anything I tried to grow here. Initially I set up 4 fabric containers inside the cage and they did so so. Last year I was too busy to do anything but this year I got rid of the fabric beds and so far got 2 frames built with cedar. At least we’ll get a few tomatoes for sure. That's a sweet deal right there. Last year, I used my raised beds for sage, oregano, and squash.
Last year was my first experience with the 20-gallon grow/fabric sacks...it went pretty well for cukes and pumpkins....I'm limited on ground space, so most of what I do is in containers, and I will be damned if I know how to keep aphids off the peppers around here. I tried everything to no avail. Except for my Early Girls and a few Better Boys, my tomatoes had some issues last year. I ordered the plants from Gurney's online, and they didn't get here until early June. I had never bought tomatoes with the root balls in shrink wrap. It was just weird to me. And they did fairly well considering (were late), but they require being put into a pot and acclimated for a couple of weeks before setting into the ground, which meant that by the time it really heated up in July (June was mild here in Tri-Cities), I had some issues with the heat. The Gurney's shrink-wrapped root green peppers I put into the ground did very well. This is at my work place. Which we moved our business to in 2013.
