No goalposts have been moved. The premise I attacked was that Cuomo and Trump are in the same boat--they've either both "touted" or promoted the drug's use, or simply pointed to anecdotal success of the drug and left it at that. I've made clear that Trump has touted it, while Cuomo simply acknowledged, in response to a question, that there had been anecdotal reports of that it had been useful. That's a distinction with a difference.
He's responding to the requests/needs of the state's doctors and making sure they have the tools they're requesting in a pandemic. He's not making a personal pronouncement on its efficacy or what he personally would do.
Suppose you're a grocer and the flavor of the day is apple cider vinegar. It's moving like hot cakes because people think it helps with weight loss. Does it follow that the grocer also thinks it helps with weight loss because he orders more of it for his store?
Why did Cuomo need to mention it being "effective" or "positive".
He could have easily stood behind it will be weeks before we know and never mention more being shipped that way. Or the ban can be lifted when they get it.
If his goal was not to push the idea his Drs were continuing to use it because they were seeing enough success to warrant it, he failed miserably.
I know it sucks from a political team standpoint but it is, what it is.
I wasn't that high up on the food chain. But the idea was we needed max energy at our rallies, to show a difference between the other older candidates and Pete. They went with the dance thing because people could participate everywhere. I vehemently said it was a bad idea, but they went with it anyways. As you know, folks just made fun of it. What they didn't make fun of was what I recommended, which eventually became a campaign video. Please share the thoughts of those that supported that ritual.
It was probably a heated debate...like to woo or not to woo?
