Trump Asks Reporter If She’s Working For Chinese Government After Pro-Beijing Questions

President Donald Trump pressed a reporter on Monday about whether she was working for the Chinese government after she asked a question about medical supplies that Beijing has provided the United States.

The reporter, who said she was with Phoenix TV, a Hong Kong-based outlet sympathetic to Beijing, began her question by noting that the Chinese government and companies like Huawei and Alibaba have donated medical supplies and equipment to the U.S. to handle coronavirus pandemic.

“It’s a statement more than a question,” Trump said after the reporter finished listing off the aid.

Trump then went on a riff about a massive trade deficit between the U.S. and China that he said he has addressed during his administration. (RELATED: NYT Allows Chinese Ambassador To Push Propaganda)

The reporter interjected to ask Trump, “Are you cooperating with China?”
Trump shot back: “Who are your working for, China?”
“Do you work for China, or are you with a newspaper? Who are you with?” he continued.
The reporter said that she works for Phoenix TV.
“Who owns that, China? Is it owned by China? Is it owned by the state?” Trump pressed.
“It’s a private company,” the reporter said.
While Phoenix TV is not wholly owned by the Chinese government, its content is widely considered to be sympathetic to Beijing.
The Hoover Institution regards it as a “quasi-official” news outlet with links to the Chinese government’s ministry of state security.

Freedom House, a pro-democracy think tank, said in a 2017 report that Phoenix TV is owned by a former Chinese military officer with close ties to Beijing officials.

“Phoenix TV’s coverage is typically favorable to the CCP [Chinese Communist Party],” the report says.

“Moreover, over the past two years, it has been used as an outlet for airing televised confessions by various detained CCP critics, most notably all five Hong Kong booksellers abducted by Chinese security forces in late 2015.”

Kick her ass out along with the lot them. Bunch of snakes.

Honest question: What if Trump would have done the same thing to an Israeli reporter? How would most of you feel about that?

Weren't you saying it was irresponsible for Trump to tout this drug?

Cuomo was responding to a factual question. He is not encouraging it's use. He simply acknowledged that there is anecdotal support that it's effective and in light of the fact that they're getting additional supply, they're lifting the 14 day limit ban for pharmacies, which had been in a previous executive order.

Democrat Tavia Galonski Vows to Report Trump’s Chloroquine Remarks as ‘Crimes Against Humanity’

State Rep. Tavia Galonski (D-OH) fumed Sunday night that President Donald Trump should be tried for “crimes against humanity” for his remarks at the White House’s coronavirus task force press briefing.

“I can’t take it anymore,” Galonski wrote on social media, condemning Trump’s expression of hope that the drug hydroxychloroquine will successfully treat coronavirus patients. “I’ve been to The Hague. I’m making a referral for crimes against humanity tomorrow.”

I can think of many, many things to say about that woman’s statements, but the nicest thing I can find to post here is....what a moron.

The exact same thing Trump had said. The reason why Trump was even made aware of it was because of the anecdotal examples.

Honest question: What if Trump would have done the same thing to an Israeli reporter? How would most of you feel about that?

Considering that the CCP made Italy buy back the much needed medical supplies that Italy had originally donated to China early on to aid in fighting the virus, he should have asked her about that little jewel.

No, Trump said "I think people should — if it were me — in fact, I might do it anyway. I may take it. Okay? I may take it. And I’ll have to ask my doctors about that, but I may take it.”

Where did Cuomo remotely suggest people should go and ask their doctors if they can take it?

What does Trump's use of the personal pronoun, "I", mean to you in your quote?
