Trump Asks Reporter If She’s Working For Chinese Government After Pro-Beijing Questions

President Donald Trump pressed a reporter on Monday about whether she was working for the Chinese government after she asked a question about medical supplies that Beijing has provided the United States.

The reporter, who said she was with Phoenix TV, a Hong Kong-based outlet sympathetic to Beijing, began her question by noting that the Chinese government and companies like Huawei and Alibaba have donated medical supplies and equipment to the U.S. to handle coronavirus pandemic.

“It’s a statement more than a question,” Trump said after the reporter finished listing off the aid.

Trump then went on a riff about a massive trade deficit between the U.S. and China that he said he has addressed during his administration. (RELATED: NYT Allows Chinese Ambassador To Push Propaganda)

The reporter interjected to ask Trump, “Are you cooperating with China?”

Trump shot back: “Who are your working for, China?”

“Do you work for China, or are you with a newspaper? Who are you with?” he continued.

The reporter said that she works for Phoenix TV.

“Who owns that, China? Is it owned by China? Is it owned by the state?” Trump pressed.

“It’s a private company,” the reporter said.

While Phoenix TV is not wholly owned by the Chinese government, its content is widely considered to be sympathetic to Beijing.

The Hoover Institution regards it as a “quasi-official” news outlet with links to the Chinese government’s ministry of state security.

Freedom House, a pro-democracy think tank, said in a 2017 report that Phoenix TV is owned by a former Chinese military officer with close ties to Beijing officials.

“Phoenix TV’s coverage is typically favorable to the CCP [Chinese Communist Party],” the report says.

“Moreover, over the past two years, it has been used as an outlet for airing televised confessions by various detained CCP critics, most notably all five Hong Kong booksellers abducted by Chinese security forces in late 2015.”

I guess that sounded smart to you when you wrote it.

Look at the r naught of the coronavirus (higher than the flu) and the percentage of those who are dying BEFORE there's a ventilator shortage (10-20 times more deadly). This is not the flu. The only way we'll keep it in the the really, really bad flu range is by taking the drastic actions we've taken ... and it'll still far exceed the regular flu when all is said and done.

Detroit Dem Says Trump's touting of Hydroxychloroquine helped Save Her Life

A Democratic state representative from Detroit has recovered from coronavirus and she says it was the combination of the drug hydroxychloroquine and President Trump that saved her life.

State Rep. Karen Whitsett's husband is an engineer at Detroit Metropolitan Airport and the two believe they were exposed to COVID-19 through his job.

Whitsett said she started experiencing shortness of breath, sinus issues, and swollen lymph nodes and tested positive for the virus on Monday.

Her doctor prescribed hydroxychloroquine, a drug used to prevent and treat malaria and also used to treat lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and medical conditions.

Trump has touted the use of hydroxychloroquine during his daily coronavirus briefings despite push back from health experts who warn that the drug could potentially be dangerous and its effectiveness against COVID-19 hasn't been proven.

"It has a lot to do with the president ... bringing it up," Whitsett said in an interview with the Detroit Free Press. "He is the only person who has the power to make it a priority."

Not sure where you live, but Lowes, Target, Publix, Kroger, etc., are slammed with people every time I go in those places. Heck, there are more people in those places now than any time I visited previously. Also, Amazon is delivering as is USPS. The landscapers are out in full force. Builders and construction worker activity are at fever pitch (no pun intended). I drove by the golf course and the tees and fairways were full. My greenway has more people walking/jogging now than I have ever seen. Sure, businesses have been shut down, but not all of them, and the ones that are open are busier than ever.

It’s just a government paid vacation for these people.

It’s time to open this mother back up.

I have seen more traffic on the roads during my daily commute to work and home since this “shut down”

Methinks he won't be asked back to fox for an interview anytime soon.

He shouldn't be. These types of people are useless in this outbreak. We're considerably beyond "anecdotal evidence" with HCQ/CQ. He'll squat on his ignorance and gladly let people die for it.
