Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Does that include the surgeon general?
I am referring to the "we don't have masks BS" from non-"hot spots". You should dive into the story of the Parkwest RN who every Knoxville media outlet gave headline story to, when it was all lies, which is what the media does anyway most of the time these days

who is he prescribing it to? There is no solid evidence that it works for Covid-19. If it works for covid-19, these other scientists would not be trying to find a vaccine and a cure.
Even if it was working that wouldn't and shouldn't stop scientists and Drs from looking for other medicines to attack it with. And it won't. What may help one may not help another. And what side effects one can deal with (most everything has some type mild or major) others can not.
Its not considered a vaccine but a an option to fight the virus once you have it anyway.

There are scientist around the world testing for treatments as well as vaccines. Similar to Drs they will not always have the same opinion on what to use for either. The vaccine takes longer because similar to the flu you are going to inject someone not infected and you cant take a healthy person and give them something that will make them sick o worse yet kill them.

Treatments are a short term approach. the vaccine is the long range game.

just glanced at a headline on a legal news aggregator that I subscribe to. There have been a lot of headlines about job and salary cuts at large firms the past few weeks. The last, in summary, says you better fire the white people first if you don't want to get sued.

Is that legal? I'm not sure how stout that limb is.
But we are straying from the original debate.
What should be done to someone who has tested positive, told to self quarantine, but refuses?
We have had our rights stripped of us and you are worried about HIPAA?

I am not quibbling with you about staying home. I'm simply made the suggestion that using the term "infection" may not communicate your intentions. Some can be positive with no infection and some can be infected but untested and thus no positive.
How can a person be positive with no infection?
COVID-19 basics - Harvard Health
What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
Some people infected with the virus have no symptoms. When the virus does cause symptoms, common ones include dry cough, fatigue, low-grade fever, body aches, nasal congestion, and sore throat. However, COVID-19 can occasionally cause more severe symptoms like high fever, severe cough, and shortness of breath, which often indicates pneumonia.

An obligation to criticize the president is fair but when they make things up, use a short clip out of context, do nothing but complain but get caught doing the same thing they are complaining about, it becomes the boy who cries wolf and they lose credibility even when it's real. The media has done nothing but lose the battle and it's because they are choosing to only fight the dumb battles such as Kavanaugh, Chinese virus, russia, impeachment, etc.

The moderates I know reject the cries for wolf because they are hypocritical, lacking evidence or against american values.

Unfortunately, if you think the media has only "cried wolf" on Trump then you need to open your eyes, live a few more years or open a history book. All modern Presidents have received unfair media treatment. Trump is one of the few that has "cried" back to the media. Other Presidents realize they have already won and don't fight dumb battles with the media.

Speaking of crying wolf, Trump's attempt to be a straight shooter, tell it like it is, or not P.C. causes many of his own issues. Being the twatter in chief has only hurt his stance with moderates. Childish names and thin skin do not exude presidential leadership. Remember, he lost the popular vote, more Americans chose someone not named Trump to be President.

One example, in 2016, Trump cried that the democrats were obstructionists in getting legislation passed. This is basically mathematically impossible because Republicans controlled both houses. The Republican party was the obstructors to his agenda and the number of executive orders that occured is unamerican. (By the way, executive orders are sad to begin with and should be almost abolished. Way too much dependency on them and allows presidents to circumnavigate the constitution.)

The very issues you list are not "dumb battles." These issues speak to the very core of our democracy and constitution. Elections, Supreme Court Appointees, and checks and balances are all major areas of concern. Most of them ran their course, processes occurred and life continued. For those that got so crazy about the Kavanaugh confirmation. Remember, what his title is right now, Justice Kavanaugh.

I'm sure every boss has made the decision that anyone who has tested positive should stay away, because it only makes since and is in the greater interest.

Now how about Kroger? Would they be within their right to say that anyone who has tested positive can not enter their store until they have gone through the appropriate period of quarantine?
uh yes.

It's called discrimaintion and businesses should be allowed to do it, as long as its posted.

I am sure they have the same policy my company has. If you are experiencing shortness of breath, fever, persistent cough then you are excluded until you have been symptom free for 72 hours.
If you or someone in your household tests positive for it then you are excluded until you, or the person in your household, has been deemed healthy by a doctor. You must then wait 14 days until you or that person has been the all clear.
Of course, which makes perfect sense. They do that for the greater good of the company without regard to what may be best for that specific individual employee. If an employee ignores the company's directive, there will appropriately be consequences.

I realize and except the fact that the same concepts are true on a larger scale.........appropriately so.

Same thing that happens to people with AiDs or HiV in California who knowingly spread their disease to others.
Which is what? Arrested and prosecuted?
So are you saying that a person who has tested positive and ignores the self-quarantine mandate, they should be arrested and prosecuted?
